{"id":200825,"date":"2016-05-09T08:19:30","date_gmt":"2016-05-09T15:19:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=200825"},"modified":"2016-05-09T08:21:58","modified_gmt":"2016-05-09T15:21:58","slug":"michael-phelps-explains-baby-boomer-roberts-name-in-facebook-live-qa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/michael-phelps-explains-baby-boomer-roberts-name-in-facebook-live-qa\/","title":{"rendered":"Michael Phelps Explains Baby Boomer Robert&#8217;s Name in Facebook Live Q&#038;A"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Michael Phelps\u00a0<\/strong>was back again yesterday for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/video-michael-phelps-offers-inside-look-at-the-olympic-training-center\/\" target=\"_blank\">another Facebook Live Q&amp;A<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/michael-phelps-nicole-johnson-welcome-baby-boomer-robert-phelps\/\" target=\"_blank\">world finally knows<\/a> Baby <strong>Boomer Robert<\/strong>&#8216;s name, Phelps shared how he and fianc\u00e9\u00a0<strong>Nicole Johnson<\/strong>\u00a0chose &#8220;Boomer&#8221;.\u00a0They wanted &#8220;something different and something cool.&#8221; Phelps heard the name and thought it was &#8220;neat&#8221; and they both fell in love with it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Robert&#8221; is in honor of Phelps&#8217; coach\u00a0<strong>Bob Bowman\u00a0<\/strong>and Phelps&#8217; great grandmother,\u00a0<strong>Roberta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Baby Boomer spent his first night at home, and Phelps admits he and fianc\u00e9\u00a0<strong>Nicole Johnson\u00a0<\/strong>did not get much sleep, but calls welcoming his son into the world\u00a0the most amazing experience.<\/p>\n<p>While Boomer does not make his debut\u00a0on camera, Phelps promised his son would make an appearance once Phelps returns home again from altitude training. Phelps does plan for his son\u00a0to travel to Rio, should he\u00a0make the U.S. Olympic team.<\/p>\n<p>Phelps also shows off Boomer&#8217;s first MP suit, which he&#8217;ll wear for his eventual first swim.
