On the final day of the IPC European Championships, two world records, two Asian and one European record were broken.<\/p>\n
Oksana Khrul\u00a0<\/strong>of Ukraine lowered her own S6 50 butterfly world record tonight. She touched in 35.48, over a half second faster than the 36.05 she posted at the 2012 Olympic Games. Second place finisher\u00a0Eleanor Robinson\u00a0<\/strong>finished in 35.66, also under the old record.<\/p>\n Valeriia Shabalina <\/strong>of Russia\u00a0touched in 2:18.37 in the SM14 women’s 200 IM. That time was nearly three seconds quicker than her own 2:21.33 world record from July 2015.<\/p>\n Thanh Tung Vo\u00a0<\/strong>set the Asian record in the men’s S5 50 freestyle. The Vietnamese swimmer finished in 34.43.<\/p>\n In the SM13 women’s 200 IM,\u00a0Shokhsanamkhon\u00a0<\/strong>Toshpulatova<\/strong>\u00a0of Uzbekestan set the Asian record with her 2:26.59.\u00a0Ana Stetsenko\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 2:28.54, still good enough for the European record.<\/p>\n Federico Morlacchi\u00a0<\/strong>was victorious in the men’s S9 400 freestyle with a 4:19.28. The women’s champion was\u00a0Stephanie Millward\u00a0<\/strong>in 4:45.71.<\/p>\n Andre Brasil\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 1:01.34 to claim the title in the S10 men’s 100 backstroke.\u00a0Bianka Pap\u00a0<\/strong>got gold in the women’s event with a 1:09.11.<\/p>\n Yevheniy Bohodayko\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 28.23 in the S7 men’s 50 freestyle to take home the title.\u00a0Susannah Rodgers\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 33.80 to win the women’s S7 50 freestyle.<\/p>\n In the S4 50 freestyle\u00a0Arjola Trimi\u00a0<\/strong>led the women with her 41.12 and\u00a0Roman Zhdanov\u00a0<\/strong>was the top finisher for the men in 39.57.\u00a0Teresa Perales\u00a0<\/strong>was the fastest 50 freestyler among S5 women, stopping the clock in 38.01.<\/p>\n In the S6 50 butterfly\u00a0Nelson Crispin\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 31.51.\u00a0Dennis Tarasov\u00a0<\/strong>won gold in the men’s S8 50 freestyle with a 26.21 while the women’s S8 gold went to\u00a0Stephanie Slater\u00a0<\/strong>win a 30.57.<\/p>\n Matheus Sousa\u00a0<\/strong>topped the podium in the S11 men’s 100 freestyle where he posted a 59.72.\u00a0Cecilia Camellini\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 1:09.20 to win the women’s S11 event.<\/p>\n Marc Evers\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 2:11.67 on his way to gold in the SM14 men’s 200 IM.\u00a0Ihar Boki\u00a0<\/strong>earned the SM13 men’s 200 IM title in 2:05.34.<\/p>\n Great Britian’s 34 point women’s 400 medley relay was first to the wall.
