Women’s 100 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n

No women cleared the German Olympic prelims qualification time of 55.08, nor the finals standard of 54.41.\u00a0Annika Bruhn <\/strong>took gold in\u00a054.85.\u00a0Anna Dietterle <\/strong>followed for silver in\u00a055.06, while\u00a0Helen Scholtissek <\/strong>claimed bronze with a time of\u00a055.18.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n

Damian Wierling\u00a0<\/strong>won gold in 48.54. While he cleared the finals German Olympic standard, he was not fast enough this morning.\u00a0Bjorn Hornikel\u00a0<\/strong>tied for second with\u00a0Paul Biedermann\u00a0<\/strong>as the two touched in 48.65.\u00a0Mario Kusch\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Steffen Deibler<\/strong>, the only two swimmers to clear the prelims Olympic standard were both slower tonight, finishing seventh and eighth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Women’s 200 Fly<\/strong><\/p>\n

Franziska Hentke\u00a0<\/strong>breezed under the qualifying standard (2:11.07) this morning with her world’s tenth 2:07.49. Tonight she was well ahead of the field again, finishing in 2:05.77, now the second best time in the world this year, and over three seconds faster than the German Olympic qualifying time. Only\u00a0Madeline Groves\u00a0<\/strong>has been faster, with a 2:05.47 at the Australian Championships.<\/p>\n

Martina van Berkel\u00a0<\/strong>from Switzerland\u00a0finished second in 2:08.50. Third place went to\u00a0Julia Mrozinski\u00a0<\/strong>with a 2:10.87.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

With the fifth best time in the world this season,\u00a0Jan-Philip Glania\u00a0<\/strong>won gold in tonight’s final. He stopped the clock in 1:56.01. This morning he posted a 1:58.04 to clear the German Olympic prelims standard, and tonight’s time was also well under the necessary 1:58.02.<\/p>\n

With a 1:57.46\u00a0Christian Diener\u00a0<\/strong>earned silver.\u00a0Mark Fischer\u00a0<\/strong>was back in 2:00.96, fast enough for bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Alexandra Wenk\u00a0<\/strong>lowered the German National record again, touching in 2:11.33. This morning she posted a 2:11.41. Tonight’s time is the 12th best in the world this year. Her morning and night swims clear the German Olympic qualifying standards.<\/p>\n

Second place went to\u00a0Maxine Wolters\u00a0<\/strong>in 2:13.90. Wolters hit the prelims Olympic standard, but came up short of the necessary 2:12.91 in finals.<\/p>\n
