McClure returns as a captain for the second straight season, while Condron and Holmquist take over the role from graduating seniors <strong><dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/uvmathletics.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=3662&amp;elinkdata=4265628\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"3662\">Elena Melloni<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> and <strong><dfn><a href=\"http:\/\/uvmathletics.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=3665&amp;elinkdata=4265628\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"3665\">Maggie Preston<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Condron competed in the 100 Yard Backstroke, 200 Yard Backstroke, and 400 Yard Individual Medley at the America East Championships, helping the Catamounts place third overall. The Cheshire, Connecticut native posted four top-5 finishes during her junior season and was sixth in the 200 Yard Backstroke against Northeastern. An environmental science major, she was named to the America East Commissioner&#8217;s Honor Roll in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Holmquist competed in the 50 and 100 Yard Freestyle events along with the 100 Yard Backstroke at the America East Championships. The Janesville, Wisconsin native was one of five Vermont selections to the 2016 America East All-Academic Team. She has also been named to the America East Commissioner&#8217;s Honor Roll and America East Academic Honor Roll with a major in business administration.<\/p>\n<p>A returning captain, McClure swam in the 100 and 200 Yard Butterfly events as well as the 500 Yard Freestyle at the conference championship meet. The Blue Bell, Pennsylvania native has been named to both the America East Commissioner&#8217;s Honor Roll and America East Academic Honor Roll as a business administration major. The junior is a member of the UVM Student-Athlete Advisory Council and will serve as the athletic department&#8217;s licensing intern next year.<\/p>\n<p>For the fourth straight year, UVM finished third overall at the America East Championships in February at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Vermont posted All-Conference performances in eight different events and was honored with the Coaching Staff of the Year Award. The Catamounts closed the season with a 6-3 record, finishing at .500 or better for a program-best 12th consecutive season.<\/p>\n<p>Vermont was also designated as a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the fall semester with a team GPA of 3.21. The Catamounts were one of four America East programs to earn the distinction along with New Hampshire, UMBC, and
