Olympic gold medalists\u00a0Ryan Lochte<\/strong>,\u00a0Tyler Clary<\/strong>, and\u00a0Dana Vollmer\u00a0<\/strong>will be just a few of the headliners at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series stop in Charlotte. The meet kicks off next Thursday, May 12th and will run through Sunday, May 15th.<\/p>\n

With 30 members of the national team and more than 500 swimmers competing total, the Charlotte stop is shaping up to be a swift weekend in the newly-renovated aquatic center in Charlotte. Full psych sheets should be made available within the next week.<\/p>\n

2012 individual Olympic champions Ryan Lochte<\/strong> (Daytona Beach, Fla.\/SwimMAC Carolina), Tyler Clary<\/strong> (Riverside, Calif.\/SwimMAC Carolina) and Dana Vollmer<\/strong> (Granbury, Texas\/California Aquatics) are expected to compete at next week\u2019s Arena Pro Swim Series at Charlotte, one of the final tune-ups ahead of this summer\u2019s U.S. Olympic Team Trials \u2013 Swimming.
\nHeld at the newly renovated Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center, the long-course meters meet opens Thursday, May 12 with a distance session at 4 p.m. EDT. Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15 the meet consists of daily prelims at 9 a.m. EDT and finals at 6 p.m. EDT. Tickets are on sale now online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Television coverage of May 14-15 finals from Charlotte will air on NBC Sports Network on delay, while NBC Sports Live Extra<\/a> will stream May 14-15 finals live. A live webcast of the entire meet also will be available at\u00a0usaswimming.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nAdditional Team USA Olympic medalists slated to compete include the likes of Claire Donahue<\/strong> (Lenoir City, Tenn.\/South Florida Aquatic Club), Conor Dwyer<\/strong> (Winnetka, Ill.\/Trojan Swim Club), Anthony Ervin<\/strong> (Valencia, Calif.\/Unattached), Jimmy Feigen<\/strong> (San Antonio, Texas\/New York Athletic Club), Cullen Jones<\/strong> (Irvington, N.J.\/SwimMAC Carolina) and Caitlin Leverenz<\/strong> (Tucson, Ariz.\/California Aquatics).<\/p>\n

Also expected to swim is Sean Ryan<\/strong> (Chattanooga, Tenn.\/Club Wolverine), who is already qualified for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in the 10-kilometer open-water event.<\/p>\n

In total, more than 30 members of the USA Swimming National Team and 500-plus swimmers are expected to compete in Charlotte.<\/p>\n

The 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials \u2013 Swimming will be held June 26-July 3 in Omaha, Nebraska.<\/p>\n

The Arena Pro Swim Series at Charlotte is the fifth of seven stops of the 2015-16 Arena Pro Swim Series. As part of USA Swimming\u2019s partnership with swimwear leader Arena, the circuit will feature a record $350,000 in overall prize money. Swimmers may earn awards for top-three finishes in all individual Olympic events across the series. At each meet, $1,000 will be provided for a first-place finish, $600 for second and $200 for third. In addition to the single-event prize money, the overall male and female winners of the season-long Series will earn a $10,000 bonus.<\/p>\n

For the third consecutive season, longtime USA Swimming partner BMW will award the grand prize of a one-year lease of a BMW vehicle to the highest-scoring eligible male and female U.S. swimmers.<\/p>\n

Male and female overall Arena Pro Swim Series champions will be honored at the conclusion of the 2015-16 series based on the number of points accumulated throughout the seven meets. Participants will be awarded points in each individual Olympic event throughout the duration of the Series (Five points for first, three for second, one point for third place).<\/p>\n

Katie Ledecky currently leads the women\u2019s Arena Pro Swim Series standings with 55 points, while Nathan Adrian tops the men\u2019s standings with 40 points.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
