WILMINGTON, North Carolina, January 17. THE William and Mary Tribe women's swimming and diving team ran it's dual meet winning streak to eight on Saturday afternoon, defeating the host UNC-Wilmington Seahawks, 152-148. With the victory, the Green and Gold move their dual meet record to an impressive 8-1 overall and 6-1 against CAA opponents. <\/p>\n
Junior Katie Radloff led the Tribe on Saturday, earning three individual wins and also swam the anchor leg of the 400 Free Relay that won the meet for the College. Radloff was joined on the relay team with senior Marina Falcone, junior Lindsey Guers, and freshman Liza McDevitt, who touched the wall in a time of 3:29.37. <\/p>\n
Radloff swam very well for the Tribe, touching the wall first in the 50 free, the 100 free, and the 100 back. Guers also had an individual win to go with her relay victory, coming in first in the 200 free. <\/p>\n
Freshman Hailey Hewitt picked up where she left off in the fall, claiming two individual wins in the 200 fly and the 200 back. Also earning individual victories for the Tribe were junior Suzanne Figuers in the 100 breast and classmate Courtney Alles in the 200 breast. <\/p>\n
Sophomore Clare LeGuyader performed well in the 1,000 free, coming in fourth with a personal-best time of 10:33.79, which improves her place in ninth all-time at the College.<\/p>\n
For the men, the William and Mary Tribe men's swimming and diving team dropped its first meet of the spring season on Saturday afternoon, falling to the defending seven-time CAA Champion UNC-Wilmington Seahawks, 85-214. <\/p>\n
The Tribe was led by seniors Jason Brisson and Shawn Matthews. Brisson, the Richmond, Va., native won the 200 fly in a time of 1:55.76, while Matthews claimed the victory in the 200 back. The Rumson, N.J., native touched the wall in a time of 1:51.60.<\/p>\n
