There were ten more short course yards national record setting times in the final day of action at the 2016 US Masters Championships. The men dominated the record board today, setting eight of the new marks.<\/p>\n
Thomas Maine\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 8:37.61, taking nearly 30 seconds off his own 90-94 year old 400 IM national record this morning.<\/p>\n Charlotte Davis\u00a0<\/strong>continued her national record setting streak, stopping the clock at 5:35.85 in the women’s 65-69 age group, well under the two month old record of 5:48.15 in the 400 IM.\u00a0Kathy Slifer\u00a0<\/strong>obliterated the 10 year old 70-74 year old age division’s national record. Her time of 6:15.30 was 25 seconds under the old mark of 6:40.92.<\/p>\n Lawrence Day\u00a0<\/strong>also set another national mark this weekend, finishing in 4:56.46, just under his own 65-69 year old national mark in the 400 IM.<\/p>\n The Olympic Club’s\u00a0Andrew Saeta<\/strong>,\u00a0Jonathan Leopold<\/strong>,\u00a0Jason Dunford<\/strong>, and\u00a0Kevin Ferguson\u00a0<\/strong>beat the men’s 25 and up 200 medley relay record with a 1:38.48.<\/p>\n All of the 200 freestyle records stayed on the books.<\/p>\n Bruce Kone\u00a0<\/strong>set a 55-59 year old’s national record in the 50 butterfly with his 24.00. In the 200 backstroke,\u00a0Nicolas Granger\u00a0<\/strong>tied the national mark with his 1:53.97 for the 45-49 year olds.\u00a0Tom Barton\u00a0<\/strong>beat the standard by 5 seconds for the 60-64 year olds, stopping the clock in 2:07.91.<\/p>\n Robert Strand\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 1:09.47 to set the national standard in the men’s 70-74 year old 100 breaststroke, two seconds under the old record, and 14 seconds ahead of second place.\u00a0Mike Freshley\u00a0<\/strong>finished the 75-79 year olds with a 1:16.79, three seconds under the old national mark.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" There were ten more short course yards national record setting times in the final day of action at the 2016 US Masters Championships.
