Seventeen\u00a0short course yards US Masters national records fell on day three of the championship, taking place in Greensboro, North Carolina.\u00a0The 50 freestyle was the only event where all of the records stayed on the books.<\/p>\n
Jim McConica\u00a0<\/strong>set the first national record of the day in the 65-69 year old men’s 500 freestyle, finishing in 5:29.10, five seconds under the old mark.<\/p>\n Charlotte Davis\u00a0<\/strong>recorded her third national mark in two days, stopping\u00a0the clock at 1:10.12 in the 65-69 year old 100 butterfly. She reset another\u00a0standard with her 2:35.07 in the 200 IM.<\/p>\n Thomas Maine\u00a0<\/strong>set his second 90-94 year old butterfly national record with a 2:06.88 in the 100. Later in the 200 IM, he finished in national record time of 4:02.84.<\/p>\n Katie Meili\u00a0<\/strong>bested\u00a0Megan Jendrick<\/strong>‘s six year old 25-29 age division national record in the 50 breaststroke, stopping the clock in 27.10, just under the 27.14.<\/p>\n Robert Strand\u00a0<\/strong>set his second national record of the weekend with a dominant win in the 70-74 year old men’s 50 breaststroke, stopping the clock in 31.70, five seconds ahead of the second place finisher, and well under the old record of 32.86.<\/p>\n Mike Freshley\u00a0<\/strong>posted his second national record in breaststroke this weekend for the 75-79 year olds, finishing in 34.95 in the 50, besting a 10 year old record.<\/p>\n Kathy Slifer\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 2:59.60 to set a national record for the 70-74 year old women in the 200 IM.
