Day one of the British\u00a0Para-Swimming International meet started off with a bang as three world records fell.<\/p>\n
Michelle Alonso Morales\u00a0<\/strong>of Spain took down the SB14 standard in the women’s 100 breaststroke, with a 1:13.86 in the morning. At night, she won the event in 1:12.61 to lower the record.\u00a0Bethany Firth\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in the event in 1:13.29, setting a new British record.\u00a0Rebecca Redfern\u00a0<\/strong>went a 1:16.86 for third place and the SB13 world record.<\/p>\n In the men’s 100 breaststroke,\u00a0Aaron Moores\u00a0<\/strong>broke the SB14 world record in prelims\u00a0with a 1:06.49. At tonight he improved that time, posting a 1:06.33 to win the event.\u00a0Scott Quin\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 1:06.97 and\u00a0Wa Kit Choi\u00a0<\/strong>placed third in 1:09.53.<\/p>\n In the women’s 100 freestyle,\u00a0Hannah<\/strong> Russell<\/strong>, competing in the S12 class,\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in 59.40 seconds.\u00a0Elanor Simmonds\u00a0<\/strong>finished in 1:15.11 for second and\u00a0Stephanie Millward\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top three in a 1:05.01.<\/p>\n Josef Craig\u00a0<\/strong>won the men’s 100 freestyle, stopping the clock at 59.32.\u00a0Lewis White\u00a0<\/strong>set a new S9 British record with a 57.76, good for second.\u00a0Stephen Clegg\u00a0<\/strong>broke the S12 British standard in 54.31, as he finished third.<\/p>\n Lyndon Longhorne\u00a0<\/strong>swam an SB3 British record time of 57.94 in the men’s 50 breaststroke.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Day one of the British\u00a0Para-Swimming International meet started off with a bang as three world records fell.
