He was featured on the cover of the February Issue of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/issues\/2016\/swimming-technique-february-2016-issue\" target=\"_blank\">Swimming Technique Magazine<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Hoffer, who owns the U.S. National Age Group record in the 100-yard free for 17-18 year olds with a 41.23, is among the fastest 100-yard sprinters of all time. \u00a0In fact, his 41.23 ranks his sixth all time in the event&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Caeleb Dressel, 40.46, 2016<\/li>\n<li>Vlad Morozov, 40.76, 2013<\/li>\n<li>Cesar Cielo, 40.92, 2008<\/li>\n<li>Nathan Adrian, 41.08, 2009<\/li>\n<li>Simonas Bilis, 41.18, 2016<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ryan Hoffer, 41.23, 2015<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Matt Grevers, 41.35, 2010<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Hoffer also has a solid 100-yard back with a 45.58 from the 2015 Short Course Nationals as well as a 19.06 in the 50-yard free from that same meet as well.<\/p>\n<p>Internationally, Hoffer competed at the World Junior Championships, posting a 22.80 in the 50-meter free as well as a 49.73 in the 100-meter free. \u00a0He also clocked a 52.89 in the 100-meter fly, all world-class times.<\/p>\n<p>Hoffer swims for head coach<strong> Kevin Zacher<\/strong> at Scottsdale Aquatic Club, and wound up turning down the chance of being a legacy swimmer at the newly-rising Arizona State University program under the direction of head coach <strong>Bob Bowman<\/strong>. \u00a0Both of Hoffer&#8217;s parents swam at ASU, and Hoffer was considered to be a top priority for the ASU program as it attempts to keep top local swimmers home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ryan Hoffer, who trains at Scottsdale Aquatic Club, and is the top-ranked recruit in the nation according to CollegeSwimming.com, has chosen to swim collegiately at California.
