{"id":198331,"date":"2016-04-20T08:13:22","date_gmt":"2016-04-20T15:13:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=198331"},"modified":"2016-04-20T08:13:22","modified_gmt":"2016-04-20T15:13:22","slug":"aleksandr-sadovnikov-races-5th-world-50-fly-23-51","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/aleksandr-sadovnikov-races-5th-world-50-fly-23-51\/","title":{"rendered":"Aleksandr Sadovnikov Races to 5th in World in 50 Fly 23.51"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Aleksandr Sadovnikov<\/strong> chased down a top-five ranking in the world in the men&#8217;s 50-meter fly at the 2016 Russian Nationals.<\/p>\n<p>Sadovnikov won the sprint fly event in a time of 23.51, moving past <strong>Fred Bousquet<\/strong> (23.54) into fifth in the world after taking sixth this morning with a 23.64.<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s not far off the Russian record of 23.24 set by <strong>Evgeny Korotyshkin<\/strong> back in 2009.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nikita Konovalov<\/strong> placed second overall in a time of 23.71 to move to 10th in the world, while <strong>Vitaly Melnikov<\/strong> finished third in 23.91.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Viacheslav Prudnikov<\/strong> (23.97), <strong>Nikita Korolev<\/strong> (24.02), <strong>Roman Rybin<\/strong> (24.02), <strong>Evgeny Koptelov<\/strong> (24.12) and <strong>Kirill Kiselev<\/strong> (24.16) also competed in the finale.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, <strong>Roman Shevliakov<\/strong> won the B final in 23.81, that would have put him third in the A final.<\/p>\n<p>Final A<br \/>\n1.
