NEW HAVEN, Connecticut, December 6. THE Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming team held onto their lead after the second day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Saturday night at Moore Field House. SCSU is in first place with a score of 596, followed by Le Moyne College (517), Saint Rose (358), Bentley (304), St. Michael's (221), Assumption College (186) and Pace (135).<\/p>\n
Kristen Frost (Madison, Conn.), Maria Zenoni (Santo Domingo, D.R.), Cody Hall (Parker, Colo.) and Rachel Heyer (Stratford, Conn.) picked up right where they left off from yesterday, as they began day two off with a first place finish in the 400 Yard Medley Relay. The quartet completed the race in 3:54.38, setting a new Northeast-10 Conference Championship record.<\/p>\n
The junior from Madison, Conn. would continue to perform very well for the Owls. Frost won the 200 Yard Backstroke (2:04.11) and the 50 Yard Freestyle (24.66), each setting new Northeast-10 and Southern Connecticut State University records. In addition, Heyer finished second in the event with a time of 24.22. <\/p>\n
Zenoni also took home a victory for the Owls, when she completed the 200 Yard Breaststroke in 2:26.53, setting a new Northeast-10 Championship record. In addition, Zenoni finished second in the 400 Yard IM with a time of 4:41.34. She was closely followed by teammate, Jennifer O'Neil (Stratford, Conn.), who swam the event in 4:46.49.<\/p>\n
