AUSTIN, Texas, December 5. THE second night of finals featured an American record from David Walters at the Texas Invitational held in Austin, Texas.<\/p>\n
Walters ripped off a blistering time of 1:31.83 in the men's 200-yard freestyle to give the meet its third American-record setting performance thus far.<\/p>\n
Women's 200 medley relay<\/b>
\nArizona's Hailey DeGolia, Annie Chandler, Lara Jackson and Emma Darlington crushed the competition with a time of 1:36.02, while Wisconsin's Maggie Meyer, Ashley Wanland, Christine Zwiegers and Beckie Thompson took second in 1:37.91. Texas' Kathleen Hersey, Carlye Ellis, Hee-jin Chang and Karlee Bispo finished third in 1:38.45.<\/p>\n
Men's 200 medley relay<\/b>
\nTexas' Hill Taylor, Agustin Magruder, Ricky Berens and David Walters claimed the title in 1:25.56, while Arizona's Ivan Tolic, Marcus Titus, Jordan Slaughter and Jordan Smith placed second in 1:26.11. Arizona's B team of Jake Tapp, Josh Arreguin, Adam Small and Ryan Richardson touched third in 1:26.57.<\/p>\n
Women's 400 IM<\/b>
\nTexas' Kathleen Hersey posted a swift time of 4:03.88 to win the event going away, while Arizona's Jenny Forster took second in 4:07.20. Arizona's Julie Stupp wrapped up the top three in 4:08.62.<\/p>\n
Men's 400 IM<\/b>
\nArizona's Jack Brown clinched the title with a time of 3:43.67, while Texas' Bryan Collins placed second in 3:45.29. UC Davis' Scott Weltz pocketed third place with a time of 3:45.84.<\/p>\n
Women's 200 free<\/b>
\nTexas' Karlee Bispo snagged the win in 1:43.84, while Arizona's Justine Schluntz placed second in 1:44.00. Longhorn's Kirsty Coventry, back in the water after some time off from the Olympics, took third in 1:45.20.<\/p>\n
Men's 200 free<\/b>
\nTexas' David Walters smoked the 200 free with an American record time of 1:31.83. That swim eclipsed the 1:32.08 set by Michael Phelps in the same pool back in 2006. Teammate Ricky Berens finished second in 1:32.82, while Arizona's Jean Basson took third in 1:33.48.<\/p>\n
Women's 100 breast<\/b>
\nArizona's Annie Chandler grabbed the title in 59.78, while Wisconsin's Ashley Wanland placed second in 1:00.07. Rebecca Ejdervik rounded out the top three in 1:00.37.<\/p>\n
Men's 100 breast<\/b>
\nArizona's Marcus Titus cruised to victory in the event with a time of 52.97. Texas' Agustin Magruder finished second in 54.11, while Arizona's Josh Arreguin touched third in 54.26.<\/p>\n
Women's 100 back<\/b>
\nArizona swept the top three spots in the event as Ana Agy scorched the heat with a time of 51.45. Andrea Boritzke took second in 52.71, while Hailey DeGolia touched third in 53.13.<\/p>\n
Men's 100 back<\/b>
\nTexas' Hill Taylor touched out Arizona's Bryan O'Connor, 46.41 to 46.95, for the win. Arizona's Jake Tapp placed third in 47.18.<\/p>\n
Women's 800 free relay<\/b>
\nTexas' Karlee Bispo, Kathleen Hersey, Katie Riefenstahl and Leah Gingrich dominated the field with a winning effort of 7:01.64 in the distance relay. Texas' B squad of Hee-jin Chang, Adrienne Woods, Abbie Mahoney and Traci Van Matre finished second in 7:16.73. UCLA's Alex Sullivan, Emily Bibb, Anna Poteete and Lauren Hall claimed third in 7:17.03.<\/p>\n
Men's 800 free relay<\/b>
\nTexas' team of Ryan Verlatti, Michael Klueh, Peter Jameson and David Walters won in 6:20.96, while Wisconsin's Kyle Thompson, Phil Davies, Kyle Sorensen and Brett Nagle finished second in 6:31.71. UC Davis' Scott Weltz, Trent Richardson, Alex Daneke and Russ Underwood completed the podium in 6:35.05. Ricky Berens had a leadoff time of 1:32.69 spoiled with a disqualification of the Texas B team.<\/p>\n
Women's one-meter diving<\/b>
\nHouston's Anna Pozdniakova won with 333.00 points, while Hawaii's Emma Friesen (309.05) and Texas' Jessica Livingston (300.90) touched second and third.<\/p>\n
