BOSTON\u00a0\u2013 Women’s swimming and diving head coach\u00a0Roy Coates<\/strong>\u00a0announced the 2016-17 team captains on Tuesday, April 19.<\/p>\n

“Our captains are integral to the success of our program. The role has certainly grown and developed over the last few years,” said Coates.<\/p>\n

After finishing the 2015-16 campaign 9-4 overall and in fifth place at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships, juniors\u00a0Delaney Lanker<\/strong>,\u00a0Tove Bjork<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Jordan Domeier<\/strong>\u00a0will lead the Huskies in their final season with the Red and Black.<\/p>\n

“We are extremely fortunate this year to have selected impactful leaders like Delaney, Jordan and Tove. Each brings unique skills to the team that will enable them to lead our squad to a greater level of success,” said Coates.<\/p>\n

“I am excited to work with Delaney, Tove and Jordan in this capacity,” said Coates.<\/p>\n

Delaney Lanker\u00a0(Aurora, Colorado)\u00a0\/\u00a0Butterfly, Backstroke<\/strong>
\nLanker, who was co-captains with senior\u00a0Sophie Browne<\/strong>\u00a0this year, had a career season, tallying 10 new personal records and a long list of top-five finishes, including her silver finish in the 200 butterfly at the CAA Championships in February. She also tabbed her first career weekly honors\u00a0with CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week and the Corvias ECAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week in early February.<\/p>\n

The Aurora, Colorado native\u00a0also set\u00a0new meet and pool records. She set a new pool record in the 200 medley relay at Vermont, a new pool and meet record in the 400 medley relay at the Dartmouth Invitational, and a new meet record in the 200 medley relay at Dartmouth.<\/p>\n

Tove Bjork\u00a0(Stockholm, Sweden)\u00a0\/\u00a0Breaststroke<\/strong>
\nBjork posted a handful of top-ten finishes and six personal bests\u00a0during the 2015-16 season a. She kicked off the campaign\u00a0by winning the 400 medley relay during a scrimmage vs. Harvard. Bjork continued to excel, taking seventh place in the 200 backstroke, second in the 200\u00a0breaststroke, and first in the 200 medley relay at the Frank Elm Invitational and against Vermont and LIU Brooklyn, respectively.\u00a0The Stockholm, Sweden native finished 16th in the 200\u00a0breaststroke at the CAA Championships<\/p>\n

Jordan Domeier\u00a0(Spring, Texas)\u00a0\/\u00a0Freestyle, IM<\/strong>
\nDomeier notched her best finish of the\u00a0season at Vermont, finishing second in the 1000 freestyle. From there, she went on to set both a new pool record and meet record in the 400 medley relay at the Dartmouth Invitational and set nine new personal records throughout the campaign.\u00a0Domeier was also successful at the CAA Championships, taking seventh place in the 500 freestyle, the 400 individual medley, and the 200 butterfly. She capped off the CAA Championships with the second most individual points scored on the team and in a three-way tie for 20th<\/sup>\u00a0most points scored overall (36 points).<\/p>\n
