Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n Women’s 50 Breast Finals:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Natalia Ivaneeva<\/strong> of Volgograd Region and\u00a0Tatiana<\/strong> Chisca<\/strong> of Moldova delivered matching times in finals of the women’s 50-meter breaststroke. The two dashed to matching 31.12’s to split the gold. Posting third overall was\u00a0Anna Ganus<\/strong> of Krasnoyarsk Territory with a 31.39 to be the only other athlete under the 32-second mark.<\/p>\n Valentina Artemyeva<\/strong> (32.02),\u00a0Daria Chikunova<\/strong> (32.24),\u00a0Maria Temnikova\u00a0<\/strong>(32.29),\u00a0Alena Efimova<\/strong> (32.33), and\u00a0Margarita Dryamina\u00a0<\/strong>(32.45) completed the top heat.<\/p>\n Men’s 100 Free Semi-Finals:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Andrey Grechin<\/strong> moved up in semi-finals of the men’s 100-meter free to occupy the top seed after stopping the clock at a 48.26. That sits below the qualifying standard of 48.57 and makes him the only swimmer of the evening to slide underneath the standard. Grechin’s time moves him to 11th in the world rankings for 2016.<\/p>\n Finishing second in semi-finals was\u00a0Alexander Sukhorukov<\/strong> who stopped the clock at a 48.60.<\/p>\n Grabbing the third-place seed was\u00a0Vladimir Morozov\u00a0<\/strong>with a time of 48.70.<\/p>\n Stepan Surkov<\/strong> moved up from his sixth place finish in prelims to fourth in semi’s. Surkov delivered a time of 48.75 to post the fourth-fastest time of the evening.<\/p>\n Danila Izotov<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Alexander Popkov\u00a0<\/strong>posted matching times for fifth going into tomorrow’s final. The pair finished with 48.96’s.<\/p>\n Nikita Konovalov<\/strong> (49.81), and\u00a0Ivan Kuzmenko\u00a0<\/strong>(49.38) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n Women’s 200 Free Finals:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n A trio of women slid under the Russian qualifying standard in the women’s 200-meter free final.\u00a0Veronika Popova<\/strong> led the pack throughout the race before posting a final time of 1:56.91, well under the standard of 1:58.12. Popova’s time moves her into the lower echelons of the top 20 world rankings for 2016.<\/p>\n Finishing second was\u00a0Viktoriia Andreeva\u00a0<\/strong>with a time of 1:57.35, just ahead of\u00a0Arina Openysheva’s<\/strong> 1:57.66, both under the qualifying standard. Add fourth place finisher\u00a0Daria Mullakaeva<\/strong> and her time of 1:59.13 and that will more than likely be Russia’s 4 x 200 freestyle relay.<\/p>\n Popova’s splits: 27.45, 29.33, 30.10, 30.03 = 1:56.91<\/p>\n Andreeva’s splits: 27.45, 29.52, 30.44, 29.94 = 1:57.35<\/p>\n Openysheva’s splits: 28.56, 29.93, 29.94, 29.23 = 1:57.66<\/p>\n Mullakaeva’s splits: 28.22, 30.35, 30.18, 30.38 = 1:59.13<\/p>\n Elena Sokolova\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.13),\u00a0Anna Egorova\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.18),\u00a0Daria Ustinova\u00a0<\/strong>(2:02.00), and\u00a0Olesia Chernyatina<\/strong> (2:02.45) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n Men’s 200 Fly Finals:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Daniil Pakhomov<\/strong> delivered the top time in the men’s 200-meter fly finals, stopping the clock at a 1:56.90. Pakhomov finished just over a second shy of the Russian qualifying standard of 1:55.88, but did squeeze into the top 20 world rankings for 2016 at 17th.<\/p>\n Nikolay Skvortsov\u00a0<\/strong>posted the second fastest time in finals at a 1:57.33, finishing just ahead of third place finisher\u00a0Alexander Pribytok’s\u00a0<\/strong>1:57.71.<\/p>\n Fourth went to\u00a0Aleksandr Kudashev\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 1:59.44, while\u00a0Evgeny Koptelov<\/strong> became the last swimmer under the 2-minute mark with a 1:59.72.<\/p>\n Sergey Strelnikov<\/strong> (2:00.07),\u00a0Alexander Kharlanov<\/strong> (2:00.15), and\u00a0Vladimir Kudryashov<\/strong> (2:00.36) finished sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n Women’s 200 Fly Semi-Finals:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Svetlana Chimrova\u00a0<\/strong>turned in the top time in semi-finals of the women’s 200-meter fly with a 2:11.20. Chimrova surged ahead of the competition to finish close to two seconds ahead of the second-place qualifier,\u00a0Ulyana Vataeva<\/strong>‘s time of 2:13.04. Both will have to turn up the heat in finals to reach the qualifying standard of 2:08.00.<\/p>\n Anastasia Guzhenkova<\/strong> grabbed the third-place seed with a time of 2:14.78 just ahead of\u00a0Marina Namazova’s\u00a0<\/strong>2:14.82.<\/p>\n Also qualifying for the finals were\u00a0Valeria Shchelkotunova<\/strong> (2:16.12),\u00a0Daria Shmakova<\/strong> (2:16.28),\u00a0Maria Arsenyeva<\/strong> (2:16.39), and\u00a0Daria Budasova<\/strong> (2:16.81).<\/p>\n Men’s 200 Breast Semi-Finals:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Semi-finals of the men’s 200-meter breaststroke were led by a trio of 2:11’s.\u00a0Kirill Prigoda<\/strong> posted the fastest time of the evening with a 2:11.21. His time sits just outside of the Russian qualifying standard of 2:10.50.<\/p>\n Grigorii Falko\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Kirill Mordashev\u00a0<\/strong>finished second and third respectively in semi’s with times of 2:11.58 and 2:11.93.<\/p>\n Grabbing fourth was\u00a0Oleg Kostin<\/strong> who stopped the clock at a 2:12.25, while\u00a0Viatcheslav Sinkevich\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth overall with a 2:12.88.<\/p>\n Arkady Grigoriev<\/strong> (2:13.37),\u00a0Vladislav Mustafin\u00a0<\/strong>(2:15.00), and\u00a0Denis Shilov\u00a0<\/strong>(2:15.73) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n Women’s 200 IM Finals:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Viktoriia Andreeva<\/strong> turned up the heat in finals of the women’s 200-meter IM finishing well underneath the Russian qualifying standard of 2:13.24. Andreeva delivered a sizzling 2:09.56 to claim first and a ticket to Rio.<\/p>\n Anastasia Osipenko<\/strong> finished second overall with a time of 2:15.67, while\u00a0Anna Belousova<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a 2:16.28.<\/p>\n Posting fourth was\u00a0Irina Shvaeva<\/strong> with a 2:16.74 and fifth went to\u00a0Elena Shipillo’s\u00a0<\/strong>2:17.80.<\/p>\n Kristina Vershinina<\/strong> (2:18.07),\u00a0Alexandra Kramarenko<\/strong> (2:18.70), and\u00a0Sofya Chichaikina<\/strong> (2:20.82) finished sixth through eighth respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Live coverage of day four finals of the 2016 Russian Nationals.
