That time stands as the second all-time fastest for Brazil. Despite being the first to the turn,\u00a0<strong>Etiene Medeiros<\/strong> could not hold on to lead, finishing with a time of 54.67.<\/p>\n<p>Posting third was\u00a0<strong>Daynara Ferreira<\/strong> with a time of 55.02, while\u00a0<strong>Manuella Lyrio<\/strong> was fourth with a 55.30. Joining them in the top eight will also be\u00a0<strong>Luana Ribeiro\u00a0<\/strong>(55.57),\u00a0<strong>Gracielle Herrman<\/strong> (55.93),\u00a0<strong>Daiene Dias<\/strong> (55.99), and China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liuyuxin Li<\/strong> (56.05).<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 200-meter back saw\u00a0<strong>Guilherme Guido<\/strong>, the winner of the 100 back, topping the qualifiers list with a 1:59.92. Currently his is the only time under the 2-minute mark.\u00a0<strong>Nathan Bighetti<\/strong> grabbed the second place seed with a time of 2:00.54, just ahead of\u00a0<strong>Leonardo Santos&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>2:00.93.<\/p>\n<p>A trio of 2:02&#8217;s followed by\u00a0<strong>Fabio Santi<\/strong> (2:02.14),\u00a0<strong>Andre Dos<\/strong> (2:02.81), and\u00a0<strong>Leonardo de Deus<\/strong> (2:02.95). Rounding out the top eight was\u00a0<strong>Fernando Pires<\/strong> (2:04.13) and\u00a0<strong>Rodrigo Quadros\u00a0<\/strong>(2:04.51).<\/p>\n<p>No FINA &#8216;A&#8217; time standards were met in the women&#8217;s 200-meter breaststroke, with international swimmers claiming 5 out of the top 8 spots. Leading the qualifiers was Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sae Saito<\/strong> who returns as the top seed with a 2:30.37. Posting the second fastest time of the morning was Argentina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Julie Sebastian<\/strong> with a 2:31.92.<\/p>\n<p>The fastest Brazilian of the morning was\u00a0<strong>Pamela Souza<\/strong>, who stopped the clock at a 2:32.56. Slovakia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrea Podmanikova<\/strong> (2:33.98) and Argentia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Macarena Ceballos\u00a0<\/strong>(2:34.97) grabbed fourth and fifth respectively.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Minjie Sun<\/strong> (2:35.35), Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lorena Barreira\u00a0<\/strong>(2:35.79), and Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Thamy\u00a0<\/strong><b>Ventorin\u00a0<\/b>(2:36.21) rounded out the top eight in the women&#8217;s 200 breast.<\/p>\n<p>The final race of the morning was the men&#8217;s 200-meter IM where\u00a0<strong>Henrique Rodrigues\u00a0<\/strong>cranked out the best time of the morning with a 2:02.13. That time stands far off of Rodrigues&#8217; Brazil Open finish of 1:58.26, good for an &#8216;A&#8217; qualification to Rio.\u00a0<strong>Thiago Pereira<\/strong>, who also posted a fast time at the Brazil Open with a 1:58.32, finished third this morning with a 2:03.46.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gabriel Ogawa\u00a0<\/strong>posted the second fastest time of the morning with a 2:02.88, while\u00a0<strong>Leonardo Santos<\/strong> grabbed fourth with a time of 2:03.90.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caio Pumputis<\/strong> (2:04.05), Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Juan Mizohato<\/strong> (2:05.16),\u00a0<strong>Conrado Lino<\/strong> (2:05.26), and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kakeru Murata\u00a0<\/strong>(2:05.70) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The second to last day of the 2016 Maria Lenk Trophy Open Championships continued with\u00a0Henrique Rodrigues delivering the top prelims time in the 200 IM.
