{"id":196376,"date":"2016-04-17T13:48:08","date_gmt":"2016-04-17T20:48:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=196376"},"modified":"2016-04-17T13:48:08","modified_gmt":"2016-04-17T20:48:08","slug":"larissa-oliveira-breaks-south-american-record-in-200-free-157-37","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/larissa-oliveira-breaks-south-american-record-in-200-free-157-37\/","title":{"rendered":"Larissa Oliveira Breaks South American Record in 200 Free 1:57.37"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Larissa Oliveira<\/strong> lowered her own South American record in the women&#8217;s 200-meter free at the 2016 Maria Lenk Trophy meet.<\/p>\n<p>Oliveira raced her way to a winning time of 1:57.37, clearing <strong>Manuella Lyrio&#8217;s<\/strong>\u00a0previous record of 1:58.03 from the Brazil Open in December. \u00a0 \u00a0Lyrio&#8217;s\u00a0swim guaranteed her a spot on the Brazilian Olympic roster as well, while Oliveira time tonight clinched her a spot as well.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s the first time Brazil will ever have a pair of women&#8217;s 200 freestylers compete in the Olympics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jessica Cavalheiro<\/strong> finished second in 1:59.05, missing the FINA A cut. \u00a0<strong>Gabrielle Goncalves<\/strong> placed third in 1:59.22.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yang Junxuan<\/strong> (1:59.38), <strong>Maria Heitmann<\/strong> (1:59.95), <strong>Rafaela Raurich<\/strong> (2:00.36), <strong>Katarina Listopadova<\/strong> (2:00.46) and <strong>Li Liuyuxin<\/strong> (2:01.91) also competed in the finale.<\/p>\n<p>Lyrio won the B final in a time of 1:58.62.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Larissa Oliveira lowered her own South American record in the women&#8217;s 200-meter free at the 2016 Maria Lenk Trophy meet.
