Action at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Mesa continues this evening, with the second night\u00a0of finals. Hit refresh for the latest coverage.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 Fly<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cammile Adams\u00a0<\/strong>held on to her top seed out of the morning with a 2:08.59 to win the first event of the night. That time is the 18th best in the world this year, and three tenths off her 2:08.21 from the Austin stop of the Pro Series.<\/p>\n

Adams had more competition in finals than she did in prelims as\u00a0Cassidy Bayer\u00a0<\/strong>was just over a second behind in 2:09.68.\u00a0Maya Dirado\u00a0<\/strong>completed the podium finishes with a 2:01.33.<\/p>\n

Ella Eastin\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Kelsi Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>swapped places from their yards battle<\/a> in March as Eastin out touched Worrell 2:12.59 to 2:12.74.<\/p>\n

Ruby Martin\u00a0<\/strong>(2:13.36) and\u00a0Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>(2:14.09) completed the A final.<\/p>\n

Men’s 200 Fly<\/strong><\/p>\n

Michael Phelps\u00a0<\/strong>was a 54.93 at the 100 meter mark, nearly two seconds ahead of the field, and closed strong enough to win in 1:58.14. That swim still does not even crack the world’s top 20 this season.<\/p>\n

Pace Clark\u00a0<\/strong>was right on his heels with a 1:58.71.\u00a0Jonathan Gomez\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 1:58.79.<\/p>\n

Jack Conger\u00a0<\/strong>raced to a 1:59.83 finish, the only other swimmer under two minutes.<\/p>\n

Zach Harting\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.32) out touched\u00a0Gunnar Bentz\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.46) and\u00a0Chase Kalisz\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.89).<\/p>\n

Kyler Vanswol\u00a0<\/strong>finished eight in 2:03.24.<\/p>\n

Women’s 50 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n

Madison Kennedy\u00a0<\/strong>jumped from 11th to sixth in the world with her 24.45. Her previous season best was a 24.71 from the Orlando stop of the Pro Series. That time broke Dara Torres’ American textile record of 24.53 from 2007.<\/p>\n

Dana Vollmer\u00a0<\/strong>continued the impressive speed this weekend and raced to a 24.69, which will vault\u00a0her to tenth.<\/p>\n

Abby Weitzeil\u00a0<\/strong>matched her season best with a 24.72.\u00a0Simone Manuel\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 24.78.\u00a0Kelis Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>was back on the blocks again, finishing fifth in 25.07.<\/p>\n

Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace<\/strong> (25.14),\u00a0Amanda Weir\u00a0<\/strong>(25.45), and\u00a0Isabella Arcila\u00a0<\/strong>(25.69) also competed in the A final.<\/p>\n

Lia Neal\u00a0<\/strong>won the B final in 25.13.<\/p>\n

Men’s 50 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nathan Adrian\u00a0<\/strong>dropped one one hundredth off his season best to post a 21.69 tonight. That time improves his third fastest time in the world.<\/p>\n

Sprint veterans\u00a0Anthony Ervin\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Cullen Jones\u00a0<\/strong>finished in second an third with times of 22.28 and 22.30.<\/p>\n

Erik Risolvato\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 22.44.\u00a0Luis Flores\u00a0<\/strong>(22.45),\u00a0Nick Soedel\u00a0<\/strong>(22.66),\u00a0Michael Chadwick\u00a0<\/strong>(22.71), and\u00a0Derek Toomey\u00a0<\/strong>(22.81) rounded out the A final.<\/p>\n

Jimmy Feigen\u00a0<\/strong>posted\u00a0a 22.69 to win the B final.<\/p>\n

Women’s 100 Back<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maya Dirado\u00a0<\/strong>got to the wall first to win the 100 backstroke tonight with a time of 1:00.71.\u00a0Kirsty Coventry\u00a0<\/strong>was just a hair behind in 1:00.74. On her second swim of the night,\u00a0Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>finished third with a 1:00.84.<\/p>\n

Kaitlin Harty\u00a0<\/strong>placed fourth in 1:01.11.\u00a0Missy Franklin\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth in 1:01.28.\u00a0Felicia Lee\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Ella Eastin\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 1:02.10 and 1:02.17.\u00a0Franklin’s training partner Fernanda Gonzalez\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the final in 1:03.80.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 Back<\/strong><\/p>\n

David Plummer\u00a0<\/strong>topped the field by over a second tonight in the 100 backstroke. Plummer stopped the clock in 54.29.\u00a0Ryan Lochte\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 55.35.\u00a0Arkady Vyatchanin\u00a0<\/strong>completed the podium in 55.39.<\/p>\n

Eugen Godsoe\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth with a 55.72.<\/p>\n

Paul Le\u00a0<\/strong>(56.44),\u00a0Sean Lehane\u00a0<\/strong>(56.62),\u00a0Marcos Palacios\u00a0<\/strong>(57.07) and\u00a0Michael Taylor\u00a0<\/strong>(57.15) completed the A final.<\/p>\n

Women’s 200 Breast<\/strong><\/p>\n

Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>was first at the 100 from lane one with a 1:09.97 and came home with a win, stopping the clock at 2:26.64. Last night she won the B final of the 100 Breaststroke.<\/p>\n

Ashley McGregor\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 2:27.68.\u00a0Hilde Luthersdottir\u00a0<\/strong>touched third in 2:28.04.<\/p>\n

Melanie Margalis\u00a0<\/strong>(2:28.44),\u00a0Haley Spencer\u00a0<\/strong>(2:29.47), and\u00a0Laura Sogar\u00a0<\/strong>(2:29.58) were also under 2:30.<\/p>\n

Emma Schoettmer\u00a0<\/strong>(2:30.48) and\u00a0Molly Hannis\u00a0<\/strong>(2:31.11) also competed in the A final.<\/p>\n

Katie Meili\u00a0<\/strong>won the B final in 2:28.55.<\/p>\n

Men’s 200 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bj Johnson\u00a0<\/strong>was victorious in the men’s 200 breaststroke tonight with a final time of 2:14.16.\u00a0Nic Fink\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 2:15.06.\u00a0Miguel De Lara Ojeda\u00a0<\/strong>earned third place honors with a 2:15.77.<\/p>\n

Miguel Chavez\u00a0<\/strong>touched fourth\u00a0in 2:16.06.\u00a0Chase Kalisz\u00a0<\/strong>was first after the morning, but fell to fifth tonight with a time of 2:16.19.<\/p>\n

Steven Stumph<\/strong> (2:16.63),\u00a0Max Williamson\u00a0<\/strong>(2:18.19), and\u00a0Andrew Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>(2:21.15) placed sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n

Women’s 400 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n

To nobody’s surprise, it was once again\u00a0Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>from start to finish in the 400 freestyle tonight. Ledecky stopped the clock in 4:02.15 ahead of\u00a0this morning’s\u00a04:03.54<\/a>. That was\u00a0once again the second fastest time in the world this year, only slower than her own\u00a0world’s fastest 400<\/a>\u00a0of 3:59.54.<\/p>\n

Cierra Runge\u00a0<\/strong>battled with teammate\u00a0Lotte Friis\u00a0<\/strong>for second. Runge was second with a 4:08.08 to Friis’ 4:08.89. Other NBAC teammate\u00a0Allison Schmitt\u00a0<\/strong>placed fourth in 4:08.89.<\/p>\n

In her third swim in under 90 minutes,\u00a0Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>finished fifth in 4:14.59.\u00a0Sarah Henry\u00a0<\/strong>was just behind her in 4:14.76.<\/p>\n

Becca Mann\u00a0<\/strong>(4:16.74) and\u00a0Joanna Evans\u00a0<\/strong>(4:18.73) rounded out the heat.<\/p>\n

Sierra Schmidt\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the B final, touching in 4:12.97.<\/p>\n

Men’s 400 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n

Michael McBroom\u00a0<\/strong>had to put up a serious fight to walk away with the 400 freestyle title in Mesa tonight. McBroom finished in 3:49.04 with two swimmers on his tail.\u00a0Conor Dwyer\u00a0<\/strong>touched second in 3:49.90 while\u00a0Clark Smith\u00a0<\/strong>finished in 3:49.96.<\/p>\n

Jordan Wilimovsky\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth in 3:51.64.\u00a0Ous Mellouli\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth in 3:53.89.<\/p>\n

Christian Quintero\u00a0<\/strong>(3:55.22),\u00a0Marcelo Acosta\u00a0<\/strong>(3:55.32), and\u00a0Matias Koski\u00a0<\/strong>(3:59.41) completed the A final.<\/p>\n
