INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, November 15. SAINT Louis’ Billy Hrabovsky and Justin Breithaupt helped the men’s swimming and diving team (12-2) post wins in five of its six duals in the two-day IUPUI Quad in Indianapolis over the weekend. However, the Billiken women (13-5) struggled only winning two of their six duals despite a few exceptional performances. <\/p>\n
Hrabovsky, Breithaupt and Brian Brasser each turned in performances that rank among the top 10 in SLU annals in their respective events on Friday. Hrabovsky placed second in the one- (252.10) and three-meter (255.20) diving events with a pair of scores that rank sixth and seventh, respectively, in the Billiken record books. Breithaupt also had a top-10 performance with a second-place time of 9:53.88 in the 1000 free that ranks eighth in SLU annals. Brasser came in second in the 100 breast (59.78) with an effort that tied for fifth in program history. <\/p>\n
The Billikens only first-place finishers on the opening day of competition at the IUPUI Quad were Lindsey Tamkun (1:00.18) and Kevin Parker (53.17) in the 100 back However, the SLU men’s team placed second in nine of the evening’s 13 scored events. Stephen Sheridan touched second in the 50 free (21.92) and 100 fly (53.29), while Parker also picked up a second-place finish in the 200 IM (1:59.77). Anna Larson was also one of the top performers, placing second on the one- (244.35) and three-meter (250.15) boards. <\/p>\n
On Saturday, Larson was the only first-place finisher for the Billiken women. She recorded the ninth-best three-meter performance (271.45) in program history. She went on to place second in the one-meter event (213.80). Jordan Hagar finished second in three events during the two-day meet. She clocked a 25.00 in the 50 free on Friday, and came in second in the 50 (24.82) and 100 (54.49) free on Saturday. Hagar’s 50 free performance on Saturday ties for the eight-fastest effort in SLU annals. <\/p>\n
Hrabovsky turned in two standout performances again on Saturday, winning the three-meter event (296.80) and capturing second place on the one-meter board (250.15). His three-meter performance ranks third in the Billiken record book, while his one-meter effort is seventh. Sheridan touched first in the 50 free (21.71) and went on to garner second-place accolades in the 100 free (47.68). Adam Trafton was the only other first-place finisher for the Bills on Saturday. He won the 200 free in 1:46.80 after placing second in the same event the previous day. Breithaupt recorded the fifth-best 1650 free effort in program history on Saturday with a time of 16:34.06. <\/p>\n
On Friday, the SLU men defeated IUPUI 94-19, UW-Milwaukee 58-55 and Xavier 63.5-47.5. The following day, they downed IUPUI 88-25 and Xavier 63-48 but fell to UW-Milwaukee 66-47. The Saint Louis women beat IUPUI 89-24 on Friday but dropped duals against UW-Milwaukee 71.5-41.5 and Xavier 60-51. On Saturday, they again bests IUPUI 94-19 but lost to UW-Milwaukee 80-33 and Xavier 59-52. <\/p>\n
The Billikens return to the pool on Thursday, Nov. 20 in a 5:30 p.m. dual against Eastern Illinois at Simon Recreation Center on the SLU campus. <\/p>\n
