Women\u2019s 200 free<\/strong><\/p>\n

Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>took the 200 freestyle out in a 56.56 and held on to win the first event of the night in 1:55.71.<\/p>\n

Allison Schmitt\u00a0<\/strong>held on for second in 1:56.52.\u00a0Maya Dirado\u00a0<\/strong>was led a pack of 1:58s with her 1:58.64 third place finish.\u00a0Melanie Margalis<\/strong> and\u00a0Cierra Runge\u00a0<\/strong>were on Dirado’s heels with a 1:58.70 and a 1:58.88.\u00a0Simone Manuel\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 1:59.08.\u00a0Patricia Castro Ortega\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.31) and\u00a0Hannah Cox\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.27) completed the A final.<\/p>\n

Despite a slower morning swim that left\u00a0Missy Franklin\u00a0<\/strong>in the B final, she posted a 1:58.64 to take her heat at night and improve by nearly two seconds from her prelims race.<\/p>\n

Men’s 200 free<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conor Dwyer\u00a0<\/strong>was well ahead of the field with a top time of 1:46.61. That time moves him into a tie for sixth in the world this year. His Trojan teammate\u00a0Christian Quintero\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 1:48.10.\u00a0Ryan Lochte\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed third\u00a0in 1:48.85.<\/p>\n

Matias Koski<\/strong> (1:48.90),\u00a0Clark Smith\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.01),\u00a0Jack Conger\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.48),\u00a0Logyuan Gutierrez\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.80) and\u00a0Michael McBroom\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.84) also raced in the A final.<\/p>\n

Michael Phelps\u00a0<\/strong>won the B final in 1:48.21.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 breast<\/strong><\/p>\n

Katie Meili\u00a0<\/strong>held off a charging\u00a0Alia Atkinson\u00a0<\/strong>1:06.49 to 1:06.84. That swim moved Meili from 11th in the world this year to sixth. Atkinson was out of the top 20 and now sits in 13th.<\/p>\n

Molly Hannis\u00a0<\/strong>was off her\u00a0season best, world’s fourth, time of 1:06.16 with her third place 1:06.95.<\/p>\n

Jessica Hardy\u00a0<\/strong>raced to a 1:07.09 for fourth.\u00a0Sarah Haase\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.53),\u00a0Hilde Luthersdottir\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.86),\u00a0Melanie Margalis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.97) and\u00a0Haley Spencer\u00a0<\/strong>(1:08.69) rounded out the A final.<\/p>\n

Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>topped the B final in a 1:08.61.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 breaststroke<\/strong><\/p>\n

The top four men in the 100 breaststroke were within seven hundredths of each other.\u00a0Youssef El Kamash\u00a0<\/strong>got his hands on the wall first, stopping the clock in 1:01.31. Second went to\u00a0Miguel De Lara Ojeda\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:01.36.\u00a0Andrew Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>was just behind in 1:01.37.\u00a0Azad Al-Barazi\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth in 1:01.38.<\/p>\n

Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.47),\u00a0Nic Fink\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.97),\u00a0Jonathan Leopold\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.40) and\u00a0William Wihanto\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.83) also swam in the A final.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 fly<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dana Vollmer<\/strong>, the “Mama on a Mission,” showed her talents tonight. Vollmer stopped the clock in 56.94 to win the 100 butterfly. That time moves her to fourth in the world. It is also the first time a US woman has gone faster than 57 seconds since Vollmer won the event at the 2012 Olympics.<\/p>\n

Short course star\u00a0Kelsi Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>touched second in 57.27, faster than her 57.52 swum in France last week. That swim will move her into a tie for ninth in the world this year.<\/p>\n

Cassidy Bayer\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 58.92.\u00a0Claire Donahue\u00a0<\/strong>was fourth in 59.05.<\/p>\n

Hellen Moffitt\u00a0<\/strong>(59.30),\u00a0Felicia Lee\u00a0<\/strong>(59.95),\u00a0Amber Carter\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.11) and\u00a0Lauren Case\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.13) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n

Maya Dirado\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in the B final with a 59.39.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 Fly<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seth Stubblefield\u00a0<\/strong>took home gold in the men’s 100 fly tonight with a 52.53. That swim is a tie for the 19th best in the world this year.<\/p>\n

Jack Conger\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 52.74.\u00a0Giles Smith\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the podium with a 53.15.<\/p>\n

David Nolan\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth in 53.43.\u00a0Longyuan Gutierrez\u00a0<\/strong>placed fifth with a 53.72.<\/p>\n

Tim Phillips\u00a0<\/strong>(53.72),\u00a0James Cooper\u00a0<\/strong>(53.96),\u00a0and\u00a0Andrew Seliskar\u00a0<\/strong>(54.57) also swam in the A final.<\/p>\n

Ryan Lochte\u00a0<\/strong>won the B final with a 53.60.\u00a0Pace Clark\u00a0<\/strong>was on his heels in 53.69 as the two posted the fifth and sixth fastest times of the night.<\/p>\n

Women’s 400 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n

Though well off her prelims swim of 4:32.22, it was\u00a0Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>from start to finish tonight. The Iron Lady stopped the clock in 4:35.81 to win the 400 IM.\u00a0Cammile Adams\u00a0<\/strong>raced to second in 4:40.14.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0star of IMs at last month’s NCAAs,\u00a0Ella<\/strong> Eastin<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>wound up third in 4:42.11, just a shade faster than her prelims swim.<\/p>\n

Vien Nguyen\u00a0<\/strong>(4:44.02),\u00a0Matea Samardzic\u00a0<\/strong>(4:45.81),\u00a0Madisyn Cox\u00a0<\/strong>(4:45.81),\u00a0Sarah Henry\u00a0<\/strong>(4:46.10), and\u00a0Becca Mann\u00a0<\/strong>(4:47.49) placed fourth through eighth.<\/p>\n

Caitlin Leverenz\u00a0<\/strong>won the B final by five seconds in a 4:44.91.<\/p>\n

Men’s 400 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sean Grieshop\u00a0<\/strong>dropped three seconds from his morning swim to win the 400 IM tonight. The young Nitro swimmer posted a 4:18.75.\u00a0Ous Mellouli\u00a0<\/strong>also held his seed with a two second drop and a 4:21.94.\u00a0Gunnar Bentz\u00a0<\/strong>knocked five seconds off his morning time to take third in 4:22.01.<\/p>\n

Tyler Clary\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Connor Green\u00a0<\/strong>finished close in 4:24.25 and 4:24.38.<\/p>\n

The sixth through eighth place finishers were\u00a0Marko Blazevski <\/strong>(4:27.33),\u00a0Nolan Tesone<\/strong> (4:28.73), and\u00a0Rafa Alfaro\u00a0<\/strong>(4:29.14)<\/p>\n
