A handful of top times went up on the board during the final day of the Eindhoven Swim Cup.<\/p>\n
Men’s 50 fly<\/strong><\/p>\n Joeri Verlinden<\/strong> won the sprint fly swim with a 24.81. That put him 11th in the world rankings. \u00a0Jesse Puts<\/strong> placed second in 24.16 with Jeroen Baars taking third in 24.46. \u00a0Nyls Korstanje<\/strong> placed fifth in 24.55 to set a Dutch age group record for 17 year olds.<\/p>\n Women’s 50 back<\/strong><\/p>\n Maaike de Waard<\/strong> vaulted to fourth in the world rankings in the sprint back with a meet-record time of 27.85. \u00a0Only Minna Atherton<\/strong> (27.49), Aliaksandra Herasimenia<\/strong> (27.79) and Kylie Masse<\/strong> (27.84) have been faster this year. De Waard broke her own meet mark of 28.26 set during prelims.<\/p>\n Kira Toussaint<\/strong>, who made the Olympic team in the 100 back, took second in 28.74 with Tamara van Vliet finishing third in 29.04. \u00a0LouLou Janssen<\/strong> set the Dutch age group mark for 15 year olds with a 29.43 for sixth overall.<\/p>\n Women’s 400 free<\/strong><\/p>\n Anja Crevar<\/strong> topped the middle distance event in a time of 4:14.67. \u00a0Andrea Kneppers<\/strong> touched second overall in 4:16.68 with Marjolein Delno<\/strong> taking third overall in 4:17.58.<\/p>\n Men’s 200 breast<\/strong><\/p>\n Nicholas Quinn<\/strong> downed the meet record with a 2:11.24, clearing the 2:11.35 set by Lennart Stekelenburg<\/strong> back in 2011. \u00a0The Irish swimmer punched his ticket to the Olympics by clearing the FINA A Cut of 2:11.66.<\/p>\n Sebas van Lith<\/strong> took second in 2:12.05 with Max Pilger<\/strong> finishing third in 2:14.09.<\/p>\n Women’s 100 breast<\/strong><\/p>\n Rikke Moller Pedersen<\/strong> cleared the Olympic qualifying time with a winning effort of 1:07.33. \u00a0Yvette Man-Yi Kong<\/strong> hit the wall second in 1:08.25 with Anouk Elzerman<\/strong> snaring third overall in a time of 1:09.93.<\/p>\n Men’s 100 back<\/strong><\/p>\n Guy Barnea<\/strong> turned in a 55.19 to win the men’s 100-meter back, while Ruben Dekker<\/strong> took second overall in 58.12. \u00a0Jurjen Willemsen<\/strong> finished third in 58.24.<\/p>\n Men’s 200 free<\/strong><\/p>\n Maarten Brzoskowski<\/strong> touched out Sebastiaan Verschuren<\/strong>, 1:47.17 to 1:47.20, in the men’s 200-meter free. \u00a0Velimir Stjepanovic<\/strong> took third overall in 1:47.80.<\/p>\n Women’s 100 free<\/strong><\/p>\n Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> grabbed the title in a time of 53.55. \u00a0That’s just off her third-ranked time of 53.21 from earlier in the meet. \u00a0Femke Heemskerk<\/strong> took second in 53.98, just off her 53.87 from this week as well.<\/p>\n Marrit Steenbergen<\/strong> (54.43) and Maud van der Meer<\/strong> (54.99) raced their way to third and fourth overall in the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A handful of top times went up on the board during the final day of the Eindhoven Swim Cup.
