Women’s 200 IM PARA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aurelie Rivard<\/strong> won the event in the SM10 division with a time of 2:35.99. \u00a0Meanwhile, Katarina Roxon<\/strong> took second in a 2:41.66 to lead the SM9 division.<\/p>\n

Justine Morrier<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a 2:43.26 that set the Canadian record for the SM14 division.<\/p>\n

Abi Tripp<\/strong>, swimming in the SM8 division, also posted a Canadian record with a 2:58.77.<\/p>\n

Brittany MacLean<\/strong> unleashed a Canadian record time in the women’s 200-meter free by winning in 1:56.94.<\/p>\n
That swim clipped Genevieve Saumur’s<\/strong> 2009 national record of 1:56.97, and clinched MacLean another spot on the Olympic roster.<\/p>\n
Penny Oleksiak<\/strong>, the 15-year-old wonder this week in the 100 fly, clinched another Olympic berth with a 1:57.59 for second overall.<\/p>\n
Katerine Savard<\/strong> (1:58.17) and\u00a0Kennedy Goss<\/strong> (1:58.26) earned relay spots, while\u00a0Taylor Ruck<\/strong> (1:58.67) and Jacqueline Keire<\/strong> (1:59.88)\u00a0finished fifth and sixth.<\/p>\n

Ryan\u00a0Cochrane<\/strong> earned a spot on his third Olympic squad after swimming in both the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.<\/p>\n
Cochrane won the 400 free going away with a 3:48.54 that put him 14th in the world rankings.<\/p>\n
Peter Brothers<\/strong> (3:51.26) and Jeremy Bagshaw<\/strong> (3:51.29), two of Cochrane’s Island Swimming training partners, placed second and third. \u00a0Both missed the FINA A cut to make the Olympic roster.<\/p>\n
Tristan Cote<\/strong> (3:55.35), Keegan Zanatta<\/strong> (3:56.43), Eric Hedlin<\/strong> (3:57.44), Jon McKay<\/strong> (3:57.46), Carson Olafson<\/strong> (3:57.81), Colin Gilbert<\/strong> (3:58.77) and MacKenzie Hamill<\/strong> (3:59.68) also competed in the finale.<\/p>\n

Jason Block<\/strong> finished second with a 2:13.21, well off the FINA A cut of 2:11.66 to make the Olympic squad. \u00a0Richard Funk<\/strong> placed third overall in 2:13.46.<\/p>\n
