Rivers finished more than three seconds ahead of second-place finisher\u00a0<strong>Katarina Roxon&#8217;s<\/strong> 31.14. Roxon improved upon her S9 prelims time of 31.50, while\u00a0<strong>Morgan Bird<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a time of 31.76 in the S8 division.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Men&#8217;s 50 Free PARA:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nathan Stein<\/strong> maintained his spot atop the men&#8217;s 50-meter free with a time of 24.07, bettering upon his 24.38 from this morning&#8217;s prelims in the S10 division.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alexander Elliot<\/strong> moved from third to second in the S10 division with a time of 25.77, shaving time off of his prelims finish of 26.03.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Isaac Bouckley\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top three with a final time of 25.99 in the S10 division.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Men&#8217;s 400 IM:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke Reilly<\/strong> uncorked a scorching 4:17.14 to top the competition in the men&#8217;s 400-meter IM. Reilly succeeded in shaving six full seconds off his prelims time of 4:23.18. Reilly&#8217;s time from finals earned him a spot in the top 20 of the 2016 world rankings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tristan Cote,<\/strong> this morning&#8217;s prelims winner, battled for second with\u00a0<strong>Robert Hill<\/strong> as the two finished .07 seconds apart. Cote stopped the clock at a 4:21.18 over Hill&#8217;s 4:21.25.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Women&#8217;s 400 Free:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Brittany MacLean<\/strong> surged ahead of the competition in the women&#8217;s 400-meter free to claim the first place seed with a time of 4:03.84. MacLean&#8217;s final time puts her under the Olympic qualifying standard of 4:09.08 and is a a new Canadian Record in the event. On top of her new record MacLean surges up to second in the world rankings for the 400 free, behind only\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>(3:59.54).<\/p>\n<p>The young\u00a0<strong>Taylor Ruck<\/strong> posted the second fastest time in the event with a final 4:09.93, slicing more than three seconds off her personal best of 4:13.51 from the Pan American Games, but falling short of the Olympic qualifying standard of 4:09.08.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kennedy Goss<\/strong> rounded out the top three finishers with a personal best of 4:10.30.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Men&#8217;s 100 Breast:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jason Block\u00a0<\/strong>finished first in the men&#8217;s 100-meter breaststroke with a final time of 1:00.59, just barely missing the Olympic Qualifying time of 1:00.57.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Richard Funk<\/strong> grabbed second overall with a final time of 1:00.92 to be the only other swimmer under 1:01.<\/p>\n<p><strong>James\u00a0Dergousof\u00a0<\/strong>tied with\u00a0<strong>Ashton Baumann<\/strong> for third overall with a time of 1:01.56.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Women&#8217;s 100 Fly:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Penelope Oleksiak<\/strong> delivered a sizzling 56.99 to win the women&#8217;s 100-meter butterfly in record fashion. Oleksiak&#8217;s time dipped well below the Olympic qualifying standard of 58.74 and uprooted the former Canadian record of 57.27. The former Canadian record was set in 2014 by Savard. The sixteen-year-old&#8217;s finish rockets her to third in the world rankings behind\u00a0<strong>Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> (55.68) and\u00a0<strong>Xinyi Chen<\/strong> (56.82).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Noemie Thomas<\/strong> posted a second-place finish of 57.02 that also fell beneath both the Olympic qualifying standard and former Canadian record.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katerine<\/strong> <strong>Savard,\u00a0<\/strong>the former Canadian record holder,\u00a0grabbed third overall with a time of 57.75 to be the only other swimmer to finish under the qualifying standard of 58.74.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Men&#8217;s 200 Free:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Markus Thormeyer<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Jeremy Bagshaw<\/strong> battled for first in the men&#8217;s 200 free, posting times a slim .03 seconds apart. Thormeyer got his hand to the wall first to stop the clock at a 1:48.17 over Bashaw&#8217;s 1:48.20. Both finished close to the Olympic qualifying standard of 1:47.97.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yuri Kisil<\/strong> grabbed third overall with a time of 1:48.90.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Women&#8217;s 200 Free PARA:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Angela Marinas<\/strong> moved up from her second-place ranking in the women&#8217;s 200 free to win the event with a time of 2:26.24. Marinas succeeded in shaving more than three seconds off her prelims time of 2:29.87.<\/p>\n<p>Despite slipping to second in the event,\u00a0<strong>Kirstie Kaskos<\/strong> sliced close to three seconds off her prelims time of 2:29.57 to finish with a 2:26.72 overall.<\/p>\n<p>Third in the event went to\u00a0<strong>Justine Morriers<\/strong> and her final time of 2:30.28. Both Kaskos and Morriers are part of the S14 division.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 Free PARA:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Gordie Mitchie<\/strong> turned in the top time in the men&#8217;s 200 free with a swift 2:03.66, stopping the clock just shy of three seconds ahead of the competition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maxime Rousselles\u00a0<\/strong>finished second overall with a final time of 2:06.28k while\u00a0<strong>Dalton Boons\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a 2:08.55 for third. All three were of the S14 Division.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Women&#8217;s 400 Free PARA:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Aurelie Rivard\u00a0<\/strong>claimed her second win of the evening with a dynamite 4:39.56 in the 400 free (S10 Division) to finish almost 35 seconds ahead of the competition. Rivard succeeded in shaving time off her prelims time of 4:42.11.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katarina Roxon<\/strong>\u00a0finished second overall with a time of 5:14.35 in the S9 division, bettering upon her prelims time of 5:15.98.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Samantha Ryan<\/strong>\u00a0grabbed third overall with a final 5:18.98 in the S10 division.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Men&#8217;s 400 Free PARA:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Benolt Huot\u00a0<\/strong>maintained his spot atop the leaderboard of the 400 free, posting a final time of 4:09.89.
