{"id":193198,"date":"2016-04-03T08:35:28","date_gmt":"2016-04-03T15:35:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=193198"},"modified":"2016-04-03T08:35:28","modified_gmt":"2016-04-03T15:35:28","slug":"seven-new-olympic-trials-cuts-on-richmond-sectionals-day-three","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/seven-new-olympic-trials-cuts-on-richmond-sectionals-day-three\/","title":{"rendered":"Seven New Olympic Trials Cuts On Richmond Sectionals Day Three"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>By Delaney Lanker, Swimming World College Intern<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On day three of the Richmond Speedo Sectional Championships the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s 200 butterfly, 50 free, 200 breaststroke, 100 back and 400 free were swam.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s 200 fly, Poseidon Swimming&#8217;s <strong>Molly Sheffield<\/strong> won the event in the time of 2:17.93. Tide Swimming&#8217;s <strong>Shelby Raber<\/strong> took silver with a 2:18.15 and in a close third place was <strong>Nicole Fye<\/strong> of Fish with a 2:18.53.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Dixon<\/strong> of Nova went a 2:02.11 to get gold in the men&#8217;s 200 fly. Delaware Swim Team&#8217;s <strong>Jacob Johnson<\/strong> came in second place with a 2:03.47 and <strong>Arthur Markley<\/strong> of Lancaster Aquatics went a 2:05.81 for the bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Poseidon Swimming&#8217;s <strong>Casey Fanz<\/strong>, won the women&#8217;s 50 free. She clocked in at a 26.10 for the gold and an Olympic trials cut. Machine Aquatics&#8217; <strong>Suzanne Dolan<\/strong> came in second place with a 26.42 and finishing in a close third was <strong>Thuymi Dinh<\/strong> of Upper Maine Line YMCA with a 26.47.<\/p>\n<p>With a 23.49 <strong>Ryan Dunne<\/strong>, unattached, out touched <strong>Justin Rich<\/strong> in the men&#8217;s 50 free for the gold. Rich touched the wall one one hundredth behind with a 23.50 for second place and the bronze went to <strong>Ryan Baker<\/strong> of Arlington Aquatics with a 23.91.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s 200 breast, Occoquan Swimming&#8217;s <strong>Mary Tansill<\/strong> won the event in a 2:35.65. <strong>Olivia Paoletti<\/strong> from Delaware Swim Team took the silver with a 2:36.094 and <strong>Laura Barakey<\/strong> of Tide Swimming came in third place (2:38.60).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brendan McHugh<\/strong>, of Greater Philadelphia Aquatics, won the men&#8217;s 200 breast with a 2:18.68. Delaware&#8217;s <strong>Matthew Otto<\/strong> touched the wall second with a 2:19.13 and in the time of 2:22.57 <strong>Eric Fuhs<\/strong> of Tide Swimming, took the bronze.<\/p>\n<p>It was a close women&#8217;s 100 backstroke final, with the top six times all within a second of each other and the top two swimmers with Olympic trials cuts. <strong>Hannah Gouger<\/strong> of Loyola Blakefield, took gold in the event with a 1:03.07.<strong> Callie Dickinson<\/strong> of Tide Swimming was second (1:03.10) and <strong>Hannah Lindsey<\/strong> of All Star Aquatics, came in third place (1:03.70).<\/p>\n<p>The top two men qualified for Olympic trials in the men&#8217;s 100 backstroke. <strong>James Wilson<\/strong> of Lancaster Aquatics won the event with a 56.72 and Upper Dublin Aquatic&#8217;s <strong>Alessandro Boratto<\/strong> took the silver with a 56.81. <strong>Clark Beach<\/strong>, of Quest Swimming was third with a 57.82.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s 400 free, Fish&#8217;s <strong>Madelyn Donohoe<\/strong> took gold with a 4:16.15, which is an Olympic trials cut. <strong>Amanda Nunan<\/strong> who was second also got an Olympic trials cut with a 4:16.58. <strong>Michelle Owens<\/strong> of Fish went a 4:22.50 for the bronze.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jake Sannem<\/strong> of Upper Dublin, went a 4:01.71 to win the men&#8217;s 400 free. <strong>Zachary Washart<\/strong> of Greater Philadelphia, touched the wall second with a 4:05.79 and finishing third was <strong>Matthew Daniel<\/strong> of Five Star Swim Team with a 4:06.11.<\/p>\n<p>Full results available on Meet Mobile<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Delaney Lanker, Swimming World College Intern On day three of the Richmond Speedo Sectional Championships the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s 200 butterfly, 50 free, 200 breaststroke, 100 back and 400<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":75,"featured_media":191334,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"dois","enabled":false},"version":2}},"categories":[7],"tags":[56965,52316],"class_list":["post-193198","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-usa","tag-2016-speedo-sectionals-richmond","tag-delaney-lanker"],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v24.3 (Yoast SEO v24.3) -
