On day three of the Austin Speedo Sectional Championships the men’s and women’s 100 back, 400 free, 100 breast and 100 fly were swam.<\/p>\n

Zoe Bartel<\/strong> of Fort Collins won the women’s 100 backstroke in the time of 1:03.54. Aces’s Elsa Litteken<\/strong> came in a close second place with a 1:03.84 and Bayley Stewart<\/strong> of Fort Collins came in third place with a 1:04.13.<\/p>\n

In the men’s 100 back, Daniel Carr<\/strong>, unattached, won the event. He touched in at a 54.95, well ahead of the Olympic trials cut and the rest of the competition. Fort Collins’ William Kovac<\/strong> came in second place with a 58.08 and Ramunas Paknys<\/strong> of Pikes Peak took the bronze with a 58.59.<\/p>\n

Denver Hilltoppers’ Haley Rowley<\/strong> took gold in the women’s 400 free with a 4:20.82. Mckenzee Gordon<\/strong>, unattached, went a 4:23.42 for silver and Kelly Huffer<\/strong> of Scottsdale Aquatics came in third place with a 4:24.11.<\/p>\n

With a 3:56.60 and an Olympic trials qualifying standard, Ben Olszewski<\/strong> of Arizona Gold won the men’s 400 free. His teammate Mark Jurek<\/strong> finished second with a 3:58.75 and taking bronze was Yoelvis Pedraza<\/strong> was RallySport Aquatic’s with a 3:59.72.<\/p>\n

The top two finishers in the women’s 100 breast qualified for Olympic trials. Fort Collins’ Bartel took her second gold medal touching the wall in the time of 1:08.29. Claire Grover<\/strong> of Scottsdale Aquatics came in second place with a 1:11.04 and in a close third was South Davis’ Mariah Gassaway<\/strong> with a 1:11.65.<\/p>\n

Ty Dang<\/strong> from Arizona Gold swam to gold in the men’s 100 breast with a 1:03.97. In a close second was Altitude Performance’s Austin Smith<\/strong> with a 1:04.12 and Antonio Ramirez<\/strong> of Arizona Gold took bronze (1:04.62).<\/p>\n

In the women’s 100 butterfly, Coleen Gillilan<\/strong> of Fort Collins won the event. She went a 1:00.84, to take gold and secure an Olympic trials time standard. Flatirons Athletics’ Eleanor Matheson<\/strong> took silver with a 1:02.11 and Josie Valette<\/strong> of RallySport Aquatics came in third place with a 1:03.01.<\/p>\n

Costal Bend’s Jacob Huerta<\/strong> won the men’s 100 fly with a 54.64, which is an Olympic trials cut. Scottsdale Aquatics took second and third place in the event. Bryan O’Connor<\/strong> took silver (55.27) and Sebastian Gutierrez<\/strong> snatched bronze (55.43).<\/p>\n
