{"id":193097,"date":"2016-04-01T16:37:22","date_gmt":"2016-04-01T23:37:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=193097"},"modified":"2016-04-01T16:37:22","modified_gmt":"2016-04-01T23:37:22","slug":"aliena-schmidtke-among-olympic-trials-cut-performers-at-speedo-sectionals-in-geneva","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/aliena-schmidtke-among-olympic-trials-cut-performers-at-speedo-sectionals-in-geneva\/","title":{"rendered":"Aliena Schmidtke Among Olympic Trials Cut Performers at Speedo Sectionals in Geneva"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Aliena Schmidtke<\/strong> was one of a handful of swimmers to clear the U.S. Olympic Trials cut tonight at the 2016 Speedo Sectionals in Geneva.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alexandria Norris<\/strong> cleared the Olympic Trials cut in the women&#8217;s 200-meter free with a winning 2:01.13. \u00a0<strong>Delaney Barnard<\/strong> (2:03.01) and <strong>Aliena Schmidtke<\/strong> (2:04.78) finished second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Schmidtke returned in the women&#8217;s 100-meter fly with a Trials cut time of 1:00.93. \u00a0<strong>Kaitlyn Johnson<\/strong> (1:01.36) and <strong>Christine Jensen<\/strong> (1:02.39) rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bryce Bohman<\/strong> claimed an Olympic Trials cut in the men&#8217;s 100-meter fly with a 53.78. \u00a0<strong>Spencer Carl<\/strong> also barely nipped the cut of 54.79 with a 54.78 for second. \u00a0<strong>Janko Radmanovic<\/strong> wound up third in 54.86.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olivia Johnson<\/strong> turned in a 4:53.21 in the women&#8217;s 400-meter IM to clear the Olympic Trials cut. \u00a0<strong>Diana Dunn<\/strong> (4:55.76) and <strong>Margaret Jahns<\/strong> (4:59.11) placed second and third behind her.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrej Ivanovic<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 200-meter free in 1:53.06, while<strong> Rodolfo Aguilar-Fernandez<\/strong> placed second in 1:53.67. \u00a0<strong>Sebastian Konnaris<\/strong> finished third in 1:54.94.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jacob Foster<\/strong> topped the men&#8217;s 400-meter IM in 4:30.35. \u00a0<strong>Ian Miskelley<\/strong> (4:37.42) and <strong>Grant Thompson<\/strong> (4:37.89) claimed second and third.<\/p>\n<p><em>Results available on Meet Mobile.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aliena Schmidtke was one of a handful of swimmers to clear the U.S. Olympic Trials cut tonight at the 2016 Speedo Sectionals in Geneva.
