Eric Spaulding<\/strong>, a former Ohio high school and club swimming coach who taught at Perry High School, has been acquitted of sexual battery charges according to CantonRep.com.<\/p>\n

Spaulding, however, will remain banned for life by USA Swimming<\/a>, after admitting to several Code of Conduct violations while on the stand during the court case.<\/p>\n

Spaulding, 32, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a then-18-year-old senior at Perry High School. \u00a0Having sexual relations with a high school student as a teacher, even if they are no longer a minor is against the law in Ohio.<\/p>\n

Spaulding denied any sexual relations with the student, but did admit on the stand to kissing the student in a moment of weakness and also to flirting with the student.<\/p>\n

The jury found Spaulding not guilty of the sexual battery, but Spaulding’s admission, under oath, of USA Swimming Code of Conduct violations will keep him banned for life from the organization.<\/p>\n

As has been seen before, this does not stop him from being part of swimming altogether, as private lessons, high school swimming and Masters swimming is not under the USA Swimming banner.<\/p>\n
