{"id":192893,"date":"2016-03-31T11:48:58","date_gmt":"2016-03-31T18:48:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=192893"},"modified":"2016-03-31T11:48:58","modified_gmt":"2016-03-31T18:48:58","slug":"carmel-swim-club-natatorium-to-get-600k-upgrade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/carmel-swim-club-natatorium-to-get-600k-upgrade\/","title":{"rendered":"Carmel Swim Club Natatorium To Get $600K Upgrade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Carmel Clay School Board approved a $600,000 upgrade to the Carmel High School Natatorium, according to the Indy Star.<\/p>\n<p>The renovation is set to repair the pool&#8217;s roof and improve the ventilation system at the Natatorium. \u00a0Construction is slated to begin in June and last for just longer than a month.<\/p>\n<p>The changes are expected to be structural and not external as Roger McMichael, the associate superintendent of business affairs at Carmel Clay, has stated that most will not even notice anything was done once the project is complete.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will enhance the comfort level in the pool for both the swimmers and spectators,&#8221; McMichael told the <em>Indy Star<\/em>.\u00a0&#8220;Nothing will look different. They won&#8217;t notice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The ventilation upgrade is something nearly all pools are going through at this time as the sport continues to see participation levels increase. \u00a0The mixture of chlorine and urine produced can adversely impact the health of those within a facility, and a proper ventilation system is needed to abate the issue.<\/p>\n<p>The upgrade should be in place well before the Carmel girls swim team starts the season that could wind up with a record 31st straight state title.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.indystar.com\/story\/news\/2016\/03\/31\/carmel-board-approves-600000-natatorium-renovations\/82433782\/\" target=\"_blank\">Full Indy Star Article<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Carmel Clay School Board approved a $600,000 upgrade to the Carmel High School Natatorium, according to the Indy Star.
