The College Swimming Coaches\u00a0Association of America (CSCAA) announces the following award recipients from\u00a0the 2016 NCAA Division I Women\u2019s Swimming and Diving\u00a0Championships.<\/p>\n
Diving Awards:<\/b><\/p>\n
The CSCAA NCAA DI Women\u2019s\u00a0Team Diver of the Year Award was presented to Sharae Zheng<\/strong> from\u00a0the University of Nevada, Reno.\u00a0Zheng swept the springboard\u00a0events taking the 1 Meter\u00a0board on Thursday<\/span><\/span> and winning the 3 Meter Boardon\u00a0Friday<\/span><\/span> with a career best 404.70.\u00a0\u00a0Zheng\u00a0is the first Wolfpack athlete in over a decade to win an individual title in a\u00a0NCAA\u00a0Championship.<\/p>\n The CSCAA NCAA DI Women\u2019s Team Diving Coach of the Year was presented to Jian Li You<\/strong> of the\u00a0University of Nevada, Reno\u00a0who guided Sharae Zheng\u2019s sweep of the spring\u00a0board events.\u00a0In addition,Wolfpack diver Krysta Palmer was\u00a0a consolation finalist in both the 1 Meter and Platform events.\u00a0\u00a0Jian Li You is also the reigning Mountain West Diving\u00a0Coach of the Year, an\u00a0honor she received for the fourth straight season.<\/p>\n Swimming Awards:<\/b><\/p>\n Lilly King<\/strong> of Indiana University was named the CSCAA NCAA DI Women\u2019s Swimmer of the Year after\u00a0setting the NCAA and American Records in both the 100\u00a0and 200 Breaststroke events. \u00a0The\u00a0freshman, from Evansville, IN was\u00a0instrumental in leading the Hoosiers to a 7th\u00a0place finish at the NCAA\u00a0Championship, their highest finish in program history.\u00a0\u00a0King is the first IU swimmer in 40 years\u00a0to\u00a0win two individual titles at an NCAA Championship.<\/p>\n Jack Bauerle<\/strong>, head coach of\u00a0the University of Georgia, was named the CSCAA NCAA DI Women\u2019s Team Coach\u00a0of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to their\u00a07th\u00a0NCAA\u00a0NCAA Championship.\u00a0\u00a0Bauerle\u2019s teams have won 3 out of the last 4\u00a0titles and in the past two decades Bauerle\u2019s teams have finished outside of the\u00a0top-2 on only 5 occasions.
