THE next swimming in our <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings Profile series is five-star prospect Haley Anderson.  A Class of 2009 swimming, the all-around star swims for the Sierra Marlins and Granite Bay High.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson, who updates her <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm661?id=5749 target=_blank>profile<\/a> in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> <a href=http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/tym target=_blank>College Recruit Rankings<\/a> powered by <i>Take Your Marks<\/i> on a regular basis, owns four times that clear the U.S. Olympic Trials cut (an integral part of the rankings system).  She has Trials cuts in the 400-meter free (4:13.90), 800-meter free (8:41.57), 200-meter fly (2:13.24) and 400-meter IM (4:47.10).<\/p>\n<p>She also would have qualified for the 2008 NCAA Division I Championships in the 500-yard free (4:44.69) and 1650-yard free (16:18.20).<\/p>\n<p><i>To be eligible to be featured in this series, please make sure you create a new profile, or request to take over your admin-created account in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings powered by <i>Take Your Marks<\/i>.  Click <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm670 target=_blank>here<\/a> for information on how to do so.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Where and when did you start swimming?<\/b><br \/>\nI started swimming when I was about 4 or 5 on the Livermore Valley Tennis Club summer league team in Livermore California.<\/p>\n<p><b>Who would you name as the most influential person and coach in your swimming career?<\/b><br \/>\nDoug Reyes. He is amazing and can help me with and through everything.<\/p>\n<p><b>What, to this point, is your best moment in the sport and why?<\/b><br \/>\nMy best moment is really the whole Olympic Trials experience.<\/p>\n<p><b>Walk us through a day of practice:<\/b><br \/>\nWe start pre-dryland at 3:35. Half of us do abs, and the other half do stretch chords. Then, we switch and when we are done with both abs and chords we stretch. We then get in the pool at 4 and do a warm up set and\/or some drill set. We then have anywhere from 1 to 2,000 kick set. About the same amount in pulling. And, on average, a 3,000 main set that is either freestyle, IM, or specialty (changes every day.) That is just an average afternoon practice once we get into the swing of things.<\/p>\n<p><b>What is your favorite set?<\/b><br \/>\nI really like IM sets.<\/p>\n<p><b>What is your least favorite set?<\/b><br \/>\nTimed 3,000. Or anything long and monotonous like that.<\/p>\n<p><b>What are your short-term goals?<\/b><br \/>\nGo a 4:36 in the 500 free.<\/p>\n<p><b>What are your long-term goals?<\/b><br \/>\nWin an event at NCAAs.<\/p>\n<p><b>What colleges are you interested in so far?<\/b><br \/>\nRight now I&#39;m taking trips to Georgia, USC, Stanford, and Texas.<\/p>\n<p><b>How is the recruiting process going?<\/b><br \/>\nThe recruiting process is a bit overwhelming but tons of fun.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, Arizona, October 1.
