KAITLIN Frehling, a five-star sprint freestyle specialist from the Class of 2010, is the next swimmer in our <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings Profile series.  Frehling swims for Seminole High and St. Petersburg Aquatics.<\/p>\n<p>Frehling, who updates her <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm661?id=5790 target=_blank>profile<\/a> in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> <a href=http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/tym target=_blank>College Recruit Rankings<\/a> powered by <i>Take Your Marks<\/i> on a regular basis, owns a pair of times that clear the U.S. Olympic Trials cut (an integral part of the rankings system). Click <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm670 target=_blank>here<\/a> for information on how to do so.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Where and when did you start swimming?<\/b><br \/>\nI started swimming when I was about 4 years old at Clearwater Aquatics Club and Countryside Country Club in the summer.<\/p>\n<p><b>Who would you name as the most influential person and coach in your swimming career?<\/b><br \/>\nThe most influential coach in my career has been Fred Lewis. The 2 most influential people have been my parents.<\/p>\n<p><b>What, to this point, is your best moment in the sport and why?<\/b><br \/>\nThe best moment was racing against Dara Torres in the 50 free at sectionals and getting my first Olympic Trials cut (Olympic trials was pretty good too).<\/p>\n<p><b>Walk us through a day of practice:<\/b><br \/>\nI get there and either do weights or medicine balls for an hour or cardio for a half hour. Then, the real fun begins. We do warm up, then a kick set, then a drill set, then hopefully a sprint set, then main set, and finally warm down.<\/p>\n<p><b>What is your favorite set?<\/b><br \/>\nAny type of sprint set, but especially a set like 3 100s sprint on 1:20 then 2 75s stretch 3 times. I also like test sets (6 50s all out for time)<\/p>\n<p><b>What is your least favorite set?<\/b><br \/>\nAny major distance set or any set that has any breaststroke in it AT ALL.<\/p>\n<p><b>What are your short-term goals?<\/b><br \/>\nTo win states in both events and to break a state record in one of them<\/p>\n<p><b>What are your long-term goals?<\/b><br \/>\nTo swim for a top college and to eventually go to London, England as a member of the U.S. Olympic team.<\/p>\n<p><b>What colleges are you interested in so far?<\/b><br \/>\nArizona, UCLA, Cal Berkley, Georgia, Florida, Auburn &#8211; not in any specific order<\/p>\n<p><b>How is the recruiting process going?<\/b><br \/>\nI&#39;m doing a lot of research and waiting for an opportunity to visit a lot of schools next year.<\/p>\n<p><i>Is there anything else that you&#39;d like our readers to know about you?<\/i><br \/>\nUp until this year, I have been involved in soccer as well as swimming. I was the starting left midfielder for the state Olympic Development Team 2 years in a row in soccer.
