Nation&#8217;s Capital&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Megan Byrnes<\/strong> finished second overall with a time of 16:17.49, while Pack Swim Team of Pittsford&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lindsay Stone\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a 16:20.00 for third, shaving an astonishing 16.61 seconds off her seed time of 16:36.61.<\/p>\n<p>Fifteen-year-old\u00a0<strong>Robert Freeman<\/strong> of Baylor Swim Club and\u00a0<strong>Frederick Schubert<\/strong> of NOVA battled for the top spot in the men&#8217;s 1000 free, finishing a close .39 seconds apart. Freeman powered ahead to clock a final time of 8:57.43 over Schubert&#8217;s 8:57.82. Both Freeman and Schubert shaved more than ten seconds off their seed times of 9:07.58 and 9:08.81. Third went to fellow NOVA teammate\u00a0<strong>Aaron Schultz<\/strong> and his time of 9:06.59.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the distance events, the first session featured the 200-yard free and medley relays for the women and men. The women kicked off the relay with 9 heats of the 200 free relay and a total of 71 relays participating. Ozaukee Aquatics turned in the top time with\u00a0<strong>Katherine Drabot<\/strong> (22.57),\u00a0<strong>Skylar Fore<\/strong> (22.81),\u00a0<strong>Mallory Fox<\/strong> (22.30), and\u00a0<strong>Lillie Hosack<\/strong> (22.98) posting a combined time of 1:31.66. Academy Bullets Swim Club grabbed second with a time of 1:32.46 with the relay team of\u00a0<strong>Kayla Filipek<\/strong> (23.10),\u00a0<strong>Avery Braunecker<\/strong> (23.07),\u00a0<strong>Hanna Blankemeier<\/strong> (22.88), and\u00a0<strong>Jennifer Hauser<\/strong> (23.41). The team of\u00a0<strong>Casey Fanz<\/strong> (22.88),\u00a0<strong>Sonora Baker<\/strong> (23.29),\u00a0<strong>Camryn Curry\u00a0<\/strong>(23.58), and\u00a0<strong>Katherine Nezelek<\/strong> (22.99) from Poseidon Swimming Inc. finished third overall with a final time of 1:32.74.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 200 free relay proved to be a tight race with the top three finishers posting times within .29 seconds of one another. Nation&#8217;s Capital&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Samuel Pomajevich<\/strong> (20.56),\u00a0<strong>Aidan Pastel<\/strong> (20.47),\u00a0<strong>Jonathan Pollock\u00a0<\/strong>(20.50), and\u00a0<strong>James William Jones<\/strong> (19.80) claimed gold with a final time of 1:21.33.\u00a0Machine Aquatics finished second overall after the group of\u00a0<strong>James Murphy<\/strong> (20.37),\u00a0<strong>Joseph Bennett<\/strong> (20.60),\u00a0<strong>Thomas Hallock<\/strong> (20.25), and\u00a0<strong>David Herbert<\/strong> (20.28) posted a combined time of 1:21.50. Dayton Raiders from Ohio rounded out the top three with the relay team of\u00a0<strong>Cody Bybee\u00a0<\/strong>(20.60),\u00a0<strong>Dylan Curtis<\/strong> (20.40),\u00a0<strong>Eric Knowles<\/strong> (20.47), and\u00a0<strong>Thomas Cope<\/strong> (20.15) stopping the clock at a 1:21.62.<\/p>\n<p>Nation&#8217;s Capital&#8217;s &#8216;B&#8217; relay surged to a first-place finish in the women&#8217;s 200 medley relay with a final time of 1:40.60. The relay consisted of\u00a0<strong>Phoebe Bacon<\/strong> (25.06),\u00a0<strong>Eireni Moshos<\/strong> (28.84),\u00a0<strong>Jasmine Hellmer<\/strong> (24.02), and\u00a0<strong>Katelynn Mack<\/strong> (22.68). Finishing second in the event was Long Island Aquatic Club&#8217;s &#8216;A&#8217; relay of\u00a0<strong>Kristen Romano<\/strong> (25.53),\u00a0<strong>Margaret Aroesty<\/strong> (28.10),\u00a0<strong>Lauryn Johnson<\/strong> (24.78),\u00a0<strong>Cara Treble<\/strong> (22.67) with a combined time of 1:41.08. Third went to\u00a0<strong>Autumn Haebig<\/strong> (25.64),\u00a0<strong>Katherine Drabot<\/strong> (28.05),\u00a0<strong>Skylar Fore<\/strong> (24.19), and\u00a0<strong>Mallory Fox<\/strong> (23.48) of Ozaukee Aquatics were third with a 1:41.36.<\/p>\n<p>Nation&#8217;s Capital&#8217;s relay team of\u00a0<strong>Will Cumberland<\/strong> (22.98),\u00a0<strong>Spencer Rowe<\/strong> (24.59), Pomajevich (21.43), and Jones (20.09) grabbed first in the men&#8217;s 200 medley relay with a final time of 1:29.09 barely edging out the men of Dayton Raiders. Dayton Raiders&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Dylan Curtis<\/strong> (22.34),\u00a0<strong>Thomas Cope<\/strong> (24.33),\u00a0<strong>Cody Bybee<\/strong> (21.88), and\u00a0<strong>Eric Knowles<\/strong> (20.55) turned in a combined 1:29.10 for an incredibly close second.
