Eden Prairie brought brought home the Minnesota (AA) High School State Championship.<\/p>\n

The first race of the day was extremely close. Eden Prairie won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:30.70, one-hundredth of a second over Minnetonka. The winning team consisted of backstroker\u00a0Austin Pham,\u00a0<\/strong>breaststroker\u00a0Griffin Back<\/strong>, butterflier\u00a0Joshua Withers\u00a0<\/strong>and freestyler\u00a0Jordan Greenberg\u00a0<\/strong>and set a meet record. North finished third in 1:35.38.<\/p>\n Minnetonka’s\u00a0Sam Schilling\u00a0<\/strong>took the 200-yard freestyle crown with a time of 1:37.74.\u00a0Max Lezer\u00a0<\/strong>of St. Michael Albert was second in 1:39.61 and Chanhassen’s Jack Dahlgren\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 1:40.00.<\/p>\n Eden Prairie’s Griffin Back\u00a0<\/strong>just missed the state record in the 200-yard individual medley\u00a0of 1:47.71. Back touched in 1:47.79. Eastview’s\u00a0Sam Pekarek\u00a0<\/strong>touched second in 1:50.24. He was followed by Rochester’s\u00a0John Becker\u00a0<\/strong>with a time of 1:50.35.<\/p>\n Greenberg picked up an individual win in the 50-yard freestyle, touching in 20.42. Lakeville North’s\u00a0Andrew Trepanier\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 20.81 and Roch Century’s\u00a0Alex Kofler\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top three in 20.83.<\/p>\n Spring Lake Park’s\u00a0Mitch Raihle\u00a0<\/strong>took first in diving. He was followed by Eagan teammates\u00a0Nick Lemieux\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Alex Crow.<\/strong><\/p>\n In the 100-yard butterfly,\u00a0Joshua Withers\u00a0<\/strong>of Eden Prairie won in 48.56. Prior Lake’s\u00a0Marshall Heskin\u00a0<\/strong>took second in 50.23. Tartan’s\u00a0Ryan McPherson\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top three with a time of 50.42.<\/p>\n Back set a state record in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.80. Trepanier was second in 44.98 and Greenberg took third in 45.01.<\/p>\n Shilling won his second event of the day in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a time of 4:29.55. Dahlgren was second in 4:32.64 and Lezer finished third with a time of 4:37.25.<\/p>\n Eden Prairie took first in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Withers, Greenberg,\u00a0Will Green\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Stephen McMahon\u00a0<\/strong>posted a winning time of 1:24.37. Eagan was second in 1:25.81 and Rochester County was third with a time of 1:25.83.<\/p>\n North’s\u00a0Mitchell Whyte\u00a0<\/strong>won the 100-yard backstroke in 49.24. Eagan’s\u00a0Parker Lemke\u00a0<\/strong>took second in 49.65 and Becker was third in 50.09.<\/p>\n Corey Lau\u00a0<\/strong>of Minnetonka took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 54.90. Pekarek finished in second place in 55.60 and\u00a0Will Ho\u00a0<\/strong>of Woodbury was third in 56.70.<\/p>\n Eagan won the 400-yard freestyle relay.\u00a0Tal Shub, Jasper Appleton, Colin Kehoe\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Parker Lemke\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 3:05.64.<\/p>\n Minnetonka took second in 3:06.76 and Eden Prairie in 3:07.97.<\/p>\n At the meet, 41 teams scored points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Eden Prairie brought brought home the Minnesota (AA) High School State Championship.
