coverage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 800 free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NBAC&#8217;s <strong>Lotte Friis<\/strong> collected the women&#8217;s 800-meter freestyle at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.<\/p>\n<p>Friis hit the wall in a time of 8:29.81. \u00a0That swim is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katie-ledecky-blasts-807-barrier-world-record-800-free-austin\/\" target=\"_blank\">just a few seconds off her fourth-ranked season best of 8:27.23 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This was a rare 800 free with <strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong> not competing in the event as she&#8217;s focused her efforts on much shorter distances for a change-up this week.<\/p>\n<p>Badger&#8217;s <strong>Lindsay Vrooman<\/strong> finished second overall in 8:30.98. \u00a0That vaulted her to seventh in the world rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Gator&#8217;s <strong>Andreina Pinto Perez<\/strong> placed third overall in a time of 8:31.64 to move up to 10th in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Triangle&#8217;s <strong>Ashley Twichell<\/strong> (8:36.45), NBAC&#8217;s <strong>Cierra Runge<\/strong> (8:37.84), Chile&#8217;s <strong>Kristel Kobrich<\/strong> (8:40.45), Vietnam&#8217;s <strong>Vien Nguyen<\/strong> (8:44.56) and Argentina&#8217;s<strong> Delfina Pignatiello<\/strong> (8:47.74) rounded out the top eight in the timed final the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.<\/p>\n<p>DiRado hit the wall in a scorching 2:10.77 to move to third in the world <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katinka-hosszu-sizzles-with-world-best-207-69-in-200-im\/\" target=\"_blank\">behind <strong>Katinka Hosszu&#8217;s<\/strong> 2:07.69 from earlier today<\/a> and <strong>Sakiko Shimizu&#8217;s<\/strong> second-ranked 2:10.51. \u00a0DiRado&#8217;s previous best this year had been her prelim 2:13.65.<\/p>\n<p>Saint Petersburg&#8217;s<strong> Melanie Margalis<\/strong> raced her way into second in the finale with a time of 2:11.72 to move to third in the world, while BlueFish&#8217;s <strong>Elizabeth Beisel<\/strong> took third in 2:12.43 for seventh in the world rankings in what was a truly fast final heat.<\/p>\n<p>Trojan&#8217;s <strong>Yuliya Efimova<\/strong>, a breaststroke specialist, even moved into the action with a fourth-place 2:12.96 to move into the top 15.<\/p>\n<p>NCAP&#8217;s <strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong> smashed her lifetime best of 2:15.10 with a 2:14.36 for fifth overall.<\/p>\n<p>Vietnam&#8217;s <strong>Vien Nguyen<\/strong> (2:16.36), Gator&#8217;s <strong>Hilda Luthersdottir<\/strong> (2:16.93) and Irish&#8217;s<strong> Emma Reaney<\/strong> (2:17.50) also competed in the IM at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.<\/p>\n<p>Pereira cranked out a time of 1:59.82 to touchout fellow Brazilian <strong>Henrique Rodrigues<\/strong>, who placed second in 1:59.97. \u00a0Pereira moved up to ninth in the world with Rodrigues finishing 12th in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Trojan&#8217;s <strong>Conor Dwyer<\/strong> took third overall in 2:00.03 for 13th in the world, while Gator&#8217;s <strong>Eduardo Solaeche<\/strong> finished fourth in 2:01.20.<\/p>\n<p>Gator&#8217;s <strong>Sebastien Rousseau<\/strong> (2:03.45), California&#8217;s <strong>Marcin Tarczynski<\/strong> (2:03.97), Wisconsin&#8217;s <strong>Michael Weiss<\/strong> (2:05.18) and NBAC&#8217;s <strong>Austin Surhoff<\/strong> (2:06.30) also swam in the final heat.<\/p>\n<p>Gator&#8217;s <strong>Dan Wallace<\/strong> wins the B final in a time of 2:02.53.
