St. Anthony’s started off the day with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of backstroker\u00a0Tyler Meyers,\u00a0<\/strong>breaststroker\u00a0Michael Chang,\u00a0<\/strong>butterflier\u00a0Andrew Stange\u00a0<\/strong>and freestyler\u00a0Sean Cannon\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 1:34.09, just missing the New York record of 1:33.83. Half Hollow Hills posted a time of 1:35.74 to take second, and Hamburg rounded out the top three with a time of 1:34.98.<\/p>\n In the 200-yard freestyle, Ithaca’s\u00a0Kevin Miller\u00a0<\/strong>took first place with a time of 1:38.87.\u00a0Spencer LaFata\u00a0<\/strong>of Fordham Prep touched second in 1:40.52. Brockport’s\u00a0Brandon Amthor\u00a0<\/strong>followed in 1:40.94 to round out the top three.<\/p>\n The day’s third event, the 200-yard individual medley, was particularly close. Half Hollow Hills’\u00a0Alex Park\u00a0<\/strong>took gold in the\u00a0race, posting a time of 1:51.21. He edged out\u00a0Matthew Zugibe\u00a0<\/strong>of\u00a0North Rockland\u00a0by one-hundredth of a second. Shaker senior\u00a0William Matz\u00a0<\/strong>finished in third with a time of 1:51.61.<\/p>\n Jamestown’s\u00a0Matthew Marsh\u00a0<\/strong>sprinted to a win in the 50-yard freestyle. He posted a time of 20.62. Cannon finished second in 20.92.\u00a0Maclean Crossley<\/strong>\u00a0of Watertown\u00a0<\/strong>touched third, posting a time of 20.95.<\/p>\n In diving, West Islip’s\u00a0Patrick Carter\u00a0<\/strong>brought home the title with 528.40 points. He was followed by Brighton’s\u00a0Corey Neas<\/strong> and Mexico Academy’s\u00a0Noah Galluzzo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Brighton’s\u00a0Noah Stevens\u00a0<\/strong>touched first in the 100-yard butterfly. He touched in 48.86 to win by over a second. The senior was followed by Brooklyn Technical’s\u00a0Elan Oumarov<\/strong>, who touched in 50.08.\u00a0Liam Egan\u00a0<\/strong>of Rye-Blind Brook-Rye Neck took third in 50.46.<\/p>\n Marsh won his second individual event of the day in the 100-yard freestyle, posting a time of 45.51. Liverpool’s\u00a0Nick Burdo\u00a0<\/strong>followed in 45.67, and\u00a0Tyler Hill\u00a0<\/strong>of Horace Greeley\u00a0rounded out the top three with a time of 45.95.<\/p>\n Next was the long distance event of the day, the 500-yard freestyle.\u00a0Lafata\u00a0<\/strong>won in 4:27.03, edging out Miller, who finished in 4:27.74. Scarsdale’s\u00a0Josh Hendell\u00a0<\/strong>touched third in 4:33.52.<\/p>\n Half Hollow Hills took the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:25.94, edging out Brockport. The team of\u00a0Harrison Tack, Justin Chang, Dylan Chan\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Alex Park\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 1:25.94. Brockport posted a time of 1:26.19 and Shaker finished third in 1:26.47.<\/p>\n Hill picked up a state title in the 100-yard backstroke, touching in 50.08. Fordham Prep’s\u00a0Nicholas Torres\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 51.21, and Rocky Point’s\u00a0Christopher O’Shea\u00a0<\/strong>took third with a time of 51.23.<\/p>\n Stevens picked up another win in the 100-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 54.95. North Rockland’s\u00a0Matthew Zugibe\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Evan Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>of Francis Lewis tied for second in 55.62.<\/p>\n The meet ended with the 400-yard freestyle relay. Fordham Prep took the race in 3:05.67. The team consisted of\u00a0Aristides Speres, Alec Nicaj,\u00a0<\/strong>Torres and LaFata.
