That swim cleared <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katinka-hosszu-sets-fastest-january-200-im-ever-at-ffn-golden-tour-stop\/\" target=\"_blank\">her 2:08.20 from the Nice stop of the FFN Golden Tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hosszu split her race tonight 27.88, 1:00.07 (32.19), 1:37.71 (37.64), 2:07.69 (29.98).<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s the ninth-fastest time all time, giving Hosszu six of the top 10 times all time (2:06.12, 2:06.84, 2:07.30, 2:07.46, 2:07.69, 2:07.92) including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katinka-hosszu-stuns-takes-down-techsuited-world-record-in-200-im-at-2015-fina-world-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\">world record of 2:06.12 from the 2015 World Championships<\/a>. \u00a0At that meet, she broke the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/what-will-be-the-longest-standing-world-record-of-suit-age\/\" target=\"_blank\">sizzling 2:06.15 set by Ariana Kukors at the 2009 World Championships<\/a> in what looked to be the most unbreakable techsuit global standard.<\/p>\n<p>No one else has even been close to Hosszu in the 200 IM this year as <strong>Sakiko Shimizu<\/strong> owns the second-best time with a 2:10.51.<\/p>\n<p>Hosszu is definitely putting her trademark Iron Lady status aside this meet as she has swum a scaled back slate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alexandra Wenk<\/strong> placed second tonight in 2:13.62 with <strong>Mireia Belmonte Garcia<\/strong> taking third in 2:13.96.<\/p>\n<p>Hosszu returned later in the evening with a 2:07.36 to move to second in the world in the women&#8217;s 200-meter back. \u00a0That&#8217;s better than<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/watch-maya-dirado-crack-katinka-hosszu-in-200-back-in-austin\/\" target=\"_blank\"> her 2:08.32 from the Austin stop of the Arena Series<\/a>. She only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/james-magnussen-grabs-100-free-victory-in-return-meet\/\" target=\"_blank\">trails <strong>Madison Wilson&#8217;s<\/strong> 2:07.18 from Australia earlier this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anastasia Fesikova<\/strong> finished second in 2:09.83 to move to eighth in the world, while <strong>Elizabeth Simmonds<\/strong> grabbed third in 2:10.08.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coralie Balmy<\/strong> bettered her second-ranked season best of 4:04.58 in the women&#8217;s 400-meter free with a time of 4:04.39 tonight. \u00a0She trails <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/watch-katie-ledecky-break-400-in-january-400-free\/\" target=\"_blank\">only <strong>Katie Ledecky&#8217;s<\/strong> scorching 3:59.54 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mireia Belmonte Garcia<\/strong> took second tonight in 4:07.01 to move to seventh in the world, while <strong>Martina De Memme<\/strong> claimed third in 4:10.60.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marco Koch<\/strong>, the top-ranked swimmer in the world with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/marco-koch-blasts-14th-fastest-200-breast-all-time\/\" target=\"_blank\">January record 2:07.69 from the Luxembourg Euro Meet<\/a>, won the men&#8217;s 200-meter breast in a time of 2:08.85 tonight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christian Vom Lehn<\/strong> hit the wall second in 2:12.52 with <strong>Erik Persson<\/strong> taking third in 2:12.56.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Florent Manaudou<\/strong> blazed his way to a 21.67 in the men&#8217;s 50-meter free. \u00a0That swim just missed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/marco-koch-cranks-out-207-200-breast-in-amiens\/\" target=\"_blank\">his top-ranked time of 21.57 clocked in Amiens<\/a>. \u00a0<strong>Clement Mignon<\/strong> took second in 22.24 to move into a three-way tie for ninth in the world with <strong>Santo Condorelli<\/strong> and <strong>Ari-Pekka Liukkonen<\/strong>. \u00a0<strong>Marco Orsi<\/strong> wound up third in 22.40.<\/p>\n<p>After posting a swift 53.93 in prelims, Sweden&#8217;s <strong>Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> cranked out a 53.80 to win the women&#8217;s 100-meter free. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/watch-sarah-sjostrom-set-100-free-u-s-open-record\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sjostrom ranks second in the world this year with a sizzling U.S. Open record 53.12 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Fran Halsall<\/strong> checked in with a second-place time of 54.40 to move to 15th in the world, while <strong>Charlotte Bonnet<\/strong> placed third in 54.54. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/marco-koch-cranks-out-207-200-breast-in-amiens\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bonnet already stands 12th in the world with a 54.37 from the Amiens stop of the Golden Tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sjostrom doubled up with a 57.01 in the women&#8217;s 100-meter fly. \u00a0That swim is the second-best in the world behind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/watch-sarah-sjostrom-smoke-100-fly-u-s-open-record\/\">Sjostrom&#8217;s top-ranked U.S. Open record 56.38 from the Austin stop<\/a>. \u00a0<strong>Rachael Kelly<\/strong> finished second in 58.11, off her seventh-ranked 57.74 from the Speedo Flanders Cup. \u00a0<strong>Katerine Savard<\/strong> placed third in 58.15 to move to eighth in the world rankings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeremy Stravius<\/strong> touched out <strong>James Guy<\/strong> for the men&#8217;s 200-meter free title, 1:47.65 to 1:47.67. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/watch-jeremy-stravius-michael-phelps-swim-200-free-in-austin\/\" target=\"_blank\">Stravius came up a bit short of his 10th-ranked season best of 1:47.56 from Austin<\/a>, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/james-guy-sizzles-in-200-free-as-part-of-speedo-flanders-cup-double\/\" target=\"_blank\">Guy could not replicate his fifth-ranked season best of 1:46.91 from the Speedo Flanders Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul Biedermann<\/strong> took third in 1:48.05 to move to 14th in the world, while <strong>Jordan Pothain&#8217;s<\/strong> fourth-place 1:48.22 gained him 15th in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey&#8217;s <strong>Viktoria Zeynep Gunes<\/strong> picked up the women&#8217;s 200-meter breast crown in 1:07.51. That time moved her up to ninth in the world rankings, bumping<strong> Rikke Moeller Pedersen&#8217;s<\/strong> 1:07.53 back a spot.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s<strong> Martina Carraro<\/strong> took second overall in 1:07.98 to take 20th in the world rankings. <strong>Chloe Tutton<\/strong> wound up third in 1:08.31.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jan-Philip Glania<\/strong> moved up to 11th in the world with a time of 54.32 in the men&#8217;s 100-meter back. \u00a0<strong>Simone Sabbioni<\/strong> took second in the finale with a time of 54.77, while <strong>Camille Lacourt<\/strong> grabbed third in 54.91.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carlos Peralta Gallego<\/strong> took home the men&#8217;s 200-meter fly in a time of 1:58.00.
