target=\"_blank\">coming up just short of tracking down<strong> Michael Phelps<\/strong> in the 100 fly last night<\/a>, California&#8217;s <strong>Tom Shields<\/strong> looks strong heading into finals of the 200-meter fly.<\/p>\n<p>Shields turned in a top time of 1:59.36 this morning, and should drop time tonight. \u00a0He&#8217;s likely looking to move past <strong>Tyler Clary<\/strong> as the top American in the stroke this year. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/zheng-wen-quah-overhauls-field-stretch-win-200-fly-austin\/\" target=\"_blank\">Clary owns that distinction with a 1:58.29 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gator&#8217;s <strong>Sebastien Rousseau<\/strong> qualified second in 2:00.10 with 400 IM winner time of 25.30, while Wisconsin&#8217;s <strong>Ivy Martin<\/strong> qualified just behind in third with a 25.31 to set up what could be a special battle in finals.<\/p>\n<p>SwimMAC&#8217;s Australia<\/a>, but it isn&#8217;t out of the realm of possibility.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grigory Tarasevich<\/strong> qualified second in 54.24 to move to ninth in the world, while Brazil&#8217;s
