NBAC’s Becca Mann<\/strong> turned up the heat in prelims with a top time of 2:11.82. \u00a0That swim is just a second-and-a-half off her personal best of 2:10.46 from the 2013 U.S. Nationals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brazil’s Joanna Maranhao<\/strong> qualified second in 2:12.14 with BlueFish’s Elizabeth Beisel<\/strong> snaring the third seed in 2:12.90.<\/p>\n

Gator’s Andreina Pinto Perez<\/strong> (2:13.21), Stanford’s Maya DiRado<\/strong> (2:14.77), NBAC’s Sierra Schmidt<\/strong> (2:14.88), NBAC’s Easop Lee<\/strong> (2:15.07) and Vien Nguyen<\/strong> (2:15.27) rounded out the top eight qualifiers.<\/p>\n

After coming up just short of tracking down Michael Phelps<\/strong> in the 100 fly last night<\/a>, California’s Tom Shields<\/strong> looks strong heading into finals of the 200-meter fly.<\/p>\n
Shields turned in a top time of 1:59.36 this morning, and should drop time tonight. \u00a0He’s likely looking to move past Tyler Clary<\/strong> as the top American in the stroke this year. \u00a0Clary owns that distinction with a 1:58.29 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Gator’s Sebastien Rousseau<\/strong> qualified second in 2:00.10 with 400 IM winner Chase Kalisz<\/strong> qualifying third in 2:00.41.<\/p>\n

Belarus’ Aliaksandra Herasimenia<\/strong> qualified second in a time of 25.30, while Wisconsin’s Ivy Martin<\/strong> qualified just behind in third with a 25.31 to set up what could be a special battle in finals.<\/p>\n

Florida’s Caeleb Dressel<\/strong>, who stunned the world with a blistering 18.23 in the 50-yard free during SECs last month<\/a>, qualified second in 22.52. \u00a0That’s a second off his personal best of 21.53 to take gold at\u00a0the 2015 U.S. National Championships<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Italy’s Luca Dotto<\/strong> qualified third in 22.54 with Ali Khalafalla<\/strong> of Indiana snagging fourth in 22.56.<\/p>\n

Grigory Tarasevich<\/strong> qualified second in 54.24 to move to ninth in the world, while Brazil’s Guilherme Guido<\/strong> put up a 54.64 for the third seed.<\/p>\n
California’s Jacob Pebley<\/strong> (54.81) and Wolfpack’s Eugene Godsoe<\/strong> (55.15) turned in the fourth and fifth seeds.<\/p>\n
NBAC’s Michael Phelps<\/strong>, coming on a big win in the 100 fly last night<\/a>, cruised into sixth overall with a 55.19 in an event that is not one of his specialties.<\/p>\n
Tucson Ford’s Matt Grevers<\/strong>, ranked second in the world with a 53.35 from Austin<\/a>, eased his way into the A final with a seventh-ranked 55.27, while former Russian Olympian Arkady Vyatchanin<\/strong>, now swimming for Serbia<\/a>, put up an eighth-ranked 55.74.<\/p>\n
