{"id":189514,"date":"2016-03-03T16:41:03","date_gmt":"2016-03-03T23:41:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=189514"},"modified":"2016-03-03T17:53:02","modified_gmt":"2016-03-04T00:53:02","slug":"joao-gomes-clips-josh-prenot-100-breast-crown-orlando","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/joao-gomes-clips-josh-prenot-100-breast-crown-orlando\/","title":{"rendered":"Joao Gomes Clips Josh Prenot For 100 Breast Crown in Orlando"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brazil&#8217;s <strong>Joao Gomes<\/strong> clipped <strong>Josh Prenot<\/strong> for the men&#8217;s 100-meter breaststroke title at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.<\/p>\n<p>Gomes touched out Prenot at the all, 1:00.64 to 1:00.66, in what proved to be an exciting finish throughout the finale.<\/p>\n<p>Gomes had been faster this morning with a 1:00.55, but settled for the victory tonight. \u00a0Prenot moved to 13th in the world with his swim.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil&#8217;s <strong>Felipe Lima<\/strong> wound up third in 1:00.73, while Missouri&#8217;s<strong> Sam Tierney<\/strong> was also in the mix with a fourth-place 1:00.96.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia&#8217;s<strong> Nic Fink<\/strong> (1:01.61), California&#8217;s <strong>Chuck Katis<\/strong> (1:02.74)\u00a0and Indie&#8217;s <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> (1:03.70)\u00a0were also in the championship heat.<\/p>\n<p>Badger&#8217;s <strong>Cody Miller<\/strong> drew a disqualification.
