Today’s Events:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n 500 FREE<\/strong><\/p>\n Stanford’s\u00a0Liam Egan\u00a0<\/strong>delivered this morning’s top time in the 500 free, stopping the clock at a 4:13.67. Egan succeeded in shaving 5.55 seconds off his entry time of 4:19.22. USC’s\u00a0Reed Malone<\/strong> turned in a 4:15.27 to return as the second-place seed for tonight’s finals.\u00a0Danny Thomson<\/strong> of Stanford rounded out the top three with a 4:15.82, dropping 5.58 seconds off his entry time of 4:21.40.<\/p>\n Arizona’s\u00a0Chris Wieser<\/strong> (4:16.09), Utah’s\u00a0Bence Kiraly<\/strong> (4:16.17), and Cal’s\u00a0Ryan Kao<\/strong> (4:16.86) grabbed fourth through sixth respectively.<\/p>\n Janardan Burns\u00a0<\/strong>of Cal (4:17.79) and\u00a0Pawel Furtek\u00a0<\/strong>of USC (4:18.11) round out the top eight.<\/p>\n 200 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n Cal freshman\u00a0Andrew Seliskar\u00a0<\/strong>dashed ahead of the competition to turn in a first-place seed time of 1:43.48 in the 200 IM. Stanford teammates Gray\u00a0Umbach\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Abrahm DeVine\u00a0<\/strong>delivered matching times to tie for second with a 1:43.56.<\/p>\n USC’s\u00a0Patrick Mulcare\u00a0<\/strong>posted a time of 1:44.39 to qualify fourth for tonight’s finals.<\/p>\n Arizona’s\u00a0Nick Thorne<\/strong> and\u00a0Thane Maudslien\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed the fifth and sixth place seeds with strikingly similar times. Thorne posted a 1:44.61 over Maudslien’s 1:44.63.<\/p>\n Max Williamson\u00a0<\/strong>of Stanford (1:44.78) and\u00a0Michael Domagala<\/strong> of USC (1:44.83) return as seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n 50 FREE<\/strong><\/p>\n The 50 free proved to be an incredibly close race with tonight’s top two qualifiers posting times .01 seconds apart. Arizona’s\u00a0Renny Richmond\u00a0<\/strong>topped the competition with a 19.51, while Cal’s\u00a0Justin Lynch\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 19.52 for the second place seed.<\/p>\n Stanford’s\u00a0Sam Perry<\/strong> delivered a 19.61 for third with\u00a0Tyler Messerschmidt<\/strong> of Cal finishing fourth with a close 19.63.<\/p>\n Jeff\u00a0Garner\u00a0<\/strong>of Stanford posted a 19.69 for fifth, shaving .95 seconds off his entry time of 20.64.<\/p>\n USC’s\u00a0Ralf Tribuntsov<\/strong> (19.73), Arizona’s\u00a0Chatham Dobbs<\/strong> (19.78), and Stanford’s\u00a0Patrick Conaton<\/strong> (19.83) return tonight as sixth through eighth respectively.<\/p>\n 1-METER DIVING<\/strong><\/p>\n Bradley Christensen\u00a0<\/strong>of Stanford leads the 1-meter diving competition after prelims with a score of 377.60.
