In 2012, Arena<\/strong> introduced the Powerskin Carbon-Pro, which revolutionized\u00a0the design and manufacture of racing swimwear by\u00a0integrating a carbon fibre cage into the suit\u2019s woven\u00a0fabric. \u00a0This added a whole new dimension to the concept\u00a0of compression by maximizing support and control\u00a0when and where it\u2019s needed. This concept of Intelligent\u00a0Compression was the bedrock on which the new\u00a0Powerskin Carbon series was built, and subsequent\u00a0releases retained it as a fundamental feature, adapting\u00a0the technology to the needs of every swimmer with\u00a0the Carbon-Flex (2014), and the fabric and carbon\u00a0configuration in the case of the Carbon-Air (2015).<\/p>\n

To do so they turned their attention\u00a0from external to internal considerations, to the core\u00a0of carbon technology, analyzing how the makeup of\u00a0the inner components of the suit could maximize the\u00a0effectiveness of the swimmer\u2019s actions in the water,\u00a0over and above the existing benefits of Intelligent\u00a0Compression.<\/p>\n

The result of these efforts is the Powerskin Carbon-Ultra<\/strong>, which incorporates a new level of support and\u00a0movement management with an internal structure \u2013\u00a0the ULTRA-LINK SYSTEM<\/strong> \u2013 designed to optimize the\u00a0athlete\u2019s physiology. By connecting key muscle groups\u00a0and isolating upper and lower body movements,\u00a0this revolutionary system increases the swimmer\u2019s\u00a0efficiency and improves their body position in the\u00a0water. And by targeting specific compression zones,\u00a0it further supports and streamlines the body to reduce\u00a0turbulence and drag.<\/p>\n

In addition, the suit\u2019s outer shell integrates an\u00a0ULTRA-CAGE<\/strong> with three times more carbon than\u00a0before, enhancing the range\u2019s trademark intelligent\u00a0compression without compromising reach and freedom\u00a0of movement.<\/p>\n

The Infinity-Loop design is based on a deep\u00a0knowledge of the key muscle chains that\u00a0help\u00a0in keeping a streamlined body position.
\nIt employs a continuous tape that:
\n\u2192\u2192 anchors on the muscle chain in the\u00a0upper body for extra support<\/span>
\n \u2192\u2192 links the ribs to the hips while still\u00a0allowing freedom to rotate<\/span>
\n \u2192\u2192 connects to the gluteus maximus,\u00a0keeping the hips high and helping\u00a0to reduce body tilt in the water<\/span>
