LARRY Shofe, 55, who just recently left Sarasota YMCA to take over as head coach of Pilot Aquatic Club in Knoxville, Tenn., has died of an apparent suicide according to a report by the <i>Knoxville News-Sentinel<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><i>Shofe, who had described his new position as his dream job, was found in his Corvette in his garage. The car was under a cover and a hose had been attached to the tailpipe and run in the driver&#39;s side window, according to Al Greene, who rented the house on Riversedge Road to Shofe.<\/p>\n<p>Greene said he had been contacted earlier in the day by Shofe&#39;s wife, Rosemary, who said she could not get in touch with her husband. Greene said he later went to the house, used his key to enter and searched for Shofe.<\/p>\n<p>On his second trip into the garage, he lifted the cover on the car, saw Shofe and called authorities.
