SwimMAC’s Kirsty Coventry<\/strong> picked up a pair of victories on the final night of the 2016 Speedo Sectionals in College Station.\u00a0The meet featured short course yards in prelims and long course meters in the evening.<\/p>\n

Coventry unloaded a 1:00.08 to win the women’s 100-meter back. \u00a0That’s in the top 10 in the world so far this year. \u00a0Aggies’ Julia Cook<\/strong> took second in 1:02.58 with Longhorn’s Victoria Edwards<\/strong> earning third in 1:03.11.<\/p>\n

Coventry then doubled up with a 2:13.18 to top the women’s 200-meter IM. \u00a0Aggies’ Sarah Henry (2:15.16) and Nitro’s Regan Barney (2:19.87) finished second and third.<\/p>\n

NYAC’s Breeja Larson<\/strong> put up a top 10 time this year with a time of 1:07.66 in the women’s 100-meter breast. \u00a0Franko Jonker<\/strong> touched in 1:09.61 with Texas Ford’s Rachel Ramey<\/strong> taking third in 1:11.75.<\/p>\n

Sweden’s Therese Alshammar<\/strong> raced to victory in the women’s 50-meter free with a 25.70. Aggie’s Lili Ibanez<\/strong> took second in 25.91 with PASA’s Isabella Henig<\/strong> claiming third in 26.61.<\/p>\n

Texas Ford’s Gabrielle Kopenski<\/strong> won the women’s 800-meter free in 8:43.10. \u00a0Henry (8:43.77) and MAC’s Haley Yelle<\/strong> (8:48.34) finished second and third.<\/p>\n

A&M’s Alexandros Theocharidis<\/strong> topped the men’s 100-meter back in 56.31. \u00a0Sierra Marlins’ Bryce Mefford<\/strong> finished second in 56.52 with PASA’s Joe Molinari<\/strong> placing third in 57.60.<\/p>\n

PASA’s BJ Johnson<\/strong> won the men’s 100-meter breast in 1:02.20 with ASC’s Ryan Fisher<\/strong> taking second in 1:03.24. \u00a0PASA’s Jeremy Babinet<\/strong> wound up third in 1:04.23.<\/p>\n

ASC’s Tim Squires<\/strong> took home the men’s 50-meter free in 22.85. \u00a0Teammate Marshall Seedorff<\/strong> finished second in 23.54, while Sierra Marlins’ Liam O’Haimhirgin<\/strong> placed third in 23.55.<\/p>\n

Nitro’s Sean Grieshop<\/strong> closed out his strong weekend with a 2:04.20 to win the men’s 200-meter IM. \u00a0PASA’s Alex Liang<\/strong> (2:05.66) and Mefford (2:06.01) rounded out the podium.<\/p>\n
