Aaron Peirsol defended his Olympic title in the 100 back earlier this week in world-record time. He is the top seed in today’s 200 back final and shares the 200 back world record with Ryan Lochte.<\/p>\n
Amanda Beard qualified for her fourth Olympic team in 2008. She has collected all three medals in the 200 breast: silver in 1996, bronze in 2000 and gold in 2004.<\/p>\n
Roland Schoeman was part of the South African quartet that won gold in the 400 free relay in Athens in 2004. Schoeman once held the second-fastest time in history in the 50 freestyle and is still ranked in the top 10 all time.<\/p>\n
Kaitlin Sandeno and Erik Vendt are both Olympic silver medalists in the 400 individual medley. Sandeno won silver in 2004 in American record time. Vendt is a double silver medalist in the event, having finished second in 2000 and 2004.<\/p>\n
