Notre Dame Academy finished second with 268, while Christian Academy Louisville was third with 218.<\/p>\n<p>The meet started with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sacred-heart-academy-lowers-national-independent-high-school-record-in-200-medley-relay\/\" target=\"_blank\">new national independent high school record in the 200 medley relay<\/a> by Sacred Heart Academy. The relay team of\u00a0<strong>Tonner DeBeer\u00a0<\/strong>(25.76),\u00a0<strong>Kennedy Lohman<\/strong> (27.97),\u00a0<strong>Asia Seidt<\/strong> (24.07), and\u00a0<strong>Brooke Bauer<\/strong> (22.81) posted a time of 1:40.61 to lower the former record of 1:40.73 set by Carondelet in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The records continued falling in the 200 free with\u00a0<strong>Brooke Forde\u00a0<\/strong>of Sacred Heart Academy lowering\u00a0<strong>Sophie Skinner&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>2015 record of 1:47.61 by close to a second. Forde stopped the clock at a 1:46.76. Skinner finished second with a time of 1:48.15.<\/p>\n<p>Seidt dashed to a sizzling 1:56.83 in the 200 IM, lowering her own state record of 1:58.53 from 2014. DM&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zorry Mason\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed second with a time of 2:01.70, while third went to NDA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeleine Vonderhaar<\/strong> (2:03.33).<\/p>\n<p>CAL&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gabi Albiero\u00a0<\/strong>set a new state record in the 50 free, turning in a final time of 22.80. Albiero&#8217;s time replaces\u00a0<strong>Grace Oglesby&#8217;s<\/strong> 2015 record of 22.92. Bauer finished second with a 23.03, while Oglesby settled for third and a 23.39.<\/p>\n<p>Ogles by turned in a final time of 53.64 to take home the state title in the 100 fly. Mason finished second with a 54.88, and PLD&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madison Winstead<\/strong> took third with a 54.92.<\/p>\n<p>Skinner and Bauer battled for first in the 100 free with a slim .05 seconds separating their final times. Skinner out-touched Bauer 50.13 to 50.18.<\/p>\n<p>Forde outlasted the competition in the 500 free, grabbing first with a time of 4:48.76 to finish more than three seconds ahead of the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Sacred Heart Academy pegged another state record in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:34.09. The relay team of\u00a0<strong>Molly O&#8217;Hara<\/strong> (24.31), Lohman (23.20), Forde (23.61), and Bauer (22.97) replaced the former time of 2:34.46 set in 2015 by Sacred Heart Academy.<\/p>\n<p>Seidt continued her record-breaking streak into the 100 back, again lowering her own state record from 2014. The senior from Sacred Heart Academy posted a final time of 52.89 to lower the record from it&#8217;s former 53.40.<\/p>\n<p>Winstead turned in back-to-back state records in the 100 breaststroke first posting a 1:00.77 in prelims before lowering it to a 1:00.45 in finals.<\/p>\n<p>Sacred Heart Academy closed the day with a win in the 400 free relay. The team of DeBeer (51.28), O&#8217;Hara (53.21), Forde (50.41), and Seidt (49.24) posted a combined time of 3:24.14.<\/p>\n<p>The St. Xavier High School men took home the state title with a total of 361 points. Covington Catholic finished second overall with 317 points, while Louisville Collegiate School rounded out the top three with 173 points.<\/p>\n<p>St. Xavier started on a high note with a new state record in the 200 medley relay. The relay team of\u00a0<strong>Martin Nitzken<\/strong> (24.25),\u00a0<strong>Keefer Barnum<\/strong> (25.32),\u00a0<strong>Matt Steiden\u00a0<\/strong>(22.51), and\u00a0<strong>Clayton Forde\u00a0<\/strong>(20.26) lowered St. Xavier&#8217;s own state record of 1:32.93 to a 1:32.34.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brendan Meyer\u00a0<\/strong>of CC finished first in the 200 free with a time of 1:38.45. St. Xavier&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Aldan Johnston<\/strong>\u00a0was a close second with a time of 1:38.66.<\/p>\n<p>LC&#8217;s <strong>Zach Hils\u00a0<\/strong>neared the 200 IM record of 1:48.88, posting a final time of 1:49.93. Forde finished second with a time of 1:50.80, and LCOL&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Coley Sullivan\u00a0<\/strong>was third with a 1:51.38.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will Tarvestad\u00a0<\/strong>of NOLD and\u00a0<strong>Hunter Tapp<\/strong> of TRN kept it close in the 50 free, finishing .05 seconds apart. Tarvestad got his hand to the wall first to stop the clock at a 21.10 over Tapp&#8217;s 21.15.<\/p>\n<p>CAL&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicolas Albiero<\/strong> flirted with the state record in the 100 fly, missing it by .53 seconds. Albiero stopped the clock at a 47.63 and was the only athlete under the 50-second mark.<\/p>\n<p>Hils grabbed his second win of the meet in the 100 free, posting a final time of 45.63. Tarvestad took second with a time of 45.73, while CC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nick Smith<\/strong> was third with a 46.17.<\/p>\n<p>Meyer continued his mid-distance prowess with a win in the 500 free of 4:26.55. Johnston grabbed second with a time of 4:31.27, just ahead of Forde and his time of 4:31.58.<\/p>\n<p>CC&#8217;s 200 free relay team of\u00a0<strong>Bryce Day\u00a0<\/strong>(21.74), Smith (20.87),\u00a0<strong>Evan McMillen\u00a0<\/strong>(21.05), and Meyer (20.36) flirted with the state record, missing it by a slim .15 seconds. The team posted a combined time of 1:24.02.<\/p>\n<p>Albiero grabbed his second individual win of the day in the 100 back, turning in a final time of 48.70. Sullivan finished second overall with a 50.71, while CC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Blake Hanna\u00a0<\/strong>was third with a 51.36.<\/p>\n<p>St. Xavier&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Keefer Barnum\u00a0<\/strong>posted a time of 55.31 to win the 100 breaststroke. In prelims the day before Barnum set the state record at a 54.69. Second in the event went to OC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michael Hampel<\/strong> (56.41), while SCT&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ty Grubb<\/strong> was third with a 56.91.<\/p>\n<p>CC dashed to a win in the 400 free relay, beating the competition by almost five seconds.
