Powers won the event in a 16:24.91, an NCAA B-cut time standard. The second place finisher, <strong>Hannah Miller<\/strong> also from Buffalo, touched the wall in a 16:38.01. Third was the freshman from Eastern Michigan, <strong>Nicole Swartz<\/strong> in a 16:49.11.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>200 Backstroke<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Ludwika Szynal<\/strong>, the junior from Akron, took her second individual backstroke title of the weekend. She won the race in a 1:53.12, breaking the meet and MAC conference record. <strong>Laura Dawson<\/strong>, a junior from Ohio University, took second in 1:56.70. Rounding out the top three was <strong>Ashely Niznik<\/strong>, a senior from Akron, in a 1:57.88.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>100 Freestyle<\/h2>\n<p>The sophomore, <strong>Megan Burns<\/strong>, from the University of Buffalo won the 100 Freestyle tonight in a 48.67. Second this evening was <strong>Ragen Engel<\/strong>, a freshman from Akron in a 49.50. Finishing third was <strong>Mary Kate Maclean<\/strong>, a senior from Eastern Michigan, in a 49.72.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>200 Breaststroke<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Daniela Carrillo<\/strong>, the senior from Bowling Green, took home the MAC title in the event tonight. Finishing almost three seconds ahead of the field, Carrillo won the event in a 2:10.60. Second was <strong>Paloma Marrero<\/strong>, a sophomore from Akron, in a 2:13.43. Third was<strong> Stephanie Lemire,<\/strong> from Miami of Ohio, in a 2:14.14.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>200 Butterfly<\/h2>\n<p>In the final individual event of the weekend, <strong>Erin Seiler<\/strong>, a senior from Akron, claimed the title in a 1:57. 86. Seiler\u2019s time represents the only NCAA B-cut standard time in this event. Second was <strong>Jordan Bullock<\/strong>, a senior from Bowling Green, in a 2:00.70. Third was <strong>Clarice Daniel<\/strong>, a senior from Eastern Michigan, in a 2:01. 24.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>400 Freestyle Relay<\/h2>\n<p>To cap their dominant performance in the pool over the course of the weekend, the University of Akron won the relay in a 3:19.54. The team of <strong>Ragen Engle, Ashley Niznik, Sadie Fazekas, and Madison Myers<\/strong> combined to touch the wall first. Second was the University of Buffalo in a 3:20.17. In a tie for third, Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan touched the wall in a 3:21.53.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After scoring 773.50 points throughout the four day meet, the University of Akron claimed the 2016 Mid-American Conference Women\u2019s Swimming and Diving title. This title marked their third straight year of dominance.<\/p>\n<p>Second was Eastern Michigan in 592 points. Third was Bowling Green in 478 points.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>MAC Women&#8217;s Swimming &amp; Diving Final\u00a0Team Results<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n1.
