McHugh helped his Buckeye team move past Indiana in the team standings and are ten points ahead of the Hoosiers heading into the final day.<\/p>\n<h3>200 Free Relay<\/h3>\n<p>Indiana won its first Big Ten title in the 200 free relay for the first time since 1991 ahead of Michigan and Ohio State. The Hoosiers won with a 1:16.93 with <strong>Ali Khalafalla<\/strong> (19.34), <strong>Blake Pieroni<\/strong> (19.12), <strong>Anze Tavcar<\/strong> (19.25) and <strong>Oliver Patrouch<\/strong> (19.22) were on the relay that finished first. Bosch won with a 3:41.61, just off of the A cut of 3:41.15. He got pressure from <strong>Jakub Maly<\/strong> of Minnesota through the 300, but Bosch was too strong for Maly on the freestyle leg. Maly was second at 3:44.30 and <strong>Ian Rainey<\/strong> of Michigan was third at 3:45.94. The Wolverines picked up 114 huge points and put some distance between them and Indiana. He got pressure from Indiana freshman <strong>Vinicius Lanza<\/strong> as he was second at 45.64. Michigan sophomore <strong>Aaron Whitaker<\/strong> was third at 46.06. McHugh was one of the two non-Texas swimmers in the A-final of the 100 fly at last year&#8217;s NCAAs. Pieroni went 1:32.33 to beat out <strong>Anders Nielsen<\/strong> of Michigan at 1:33.03. <strong>Peter Brumm<\/strong> of Michigan was third at 1:33.62. Pieroni now moves into first in the nation with that time, just ahead of <strong>Simonas Bilis<\/strong> from NC State. All eyes were on the seniors <strong>Tanner Kurz<\/strong> of Indiana and <strong>Roman Trussov\u00a0<\/strong>of Iowa, who were running first and second at the 50. But Finnerty had a strong last 50 and won with a 51.75. Trussov was second at 52.17 and Kurz was third at 52.32. Finnerty moves into second in the nation with his swim behind Missouri senior <strong>Fabian Schwingenschlogl\u00a0<\/strong>at 51.36. The Hoosiers had four A-finalists and scored 117 total points in the event to pass Ohio State and move back into second.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Ian Finnerty<\/strong>, Indiana, 51.75<\/li>\n<li><strong>Roman Trussov<\/strong>, Iowa, 52.17<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tanner Kurz<\/strong>, Indiana, 52.32<\/li>\n<li><strong>DJ MacDonald<\/strong>, Ohio State, 52.96<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cody Taylor<\/strong>, Indiana, 53.00<\/li>\n<li><strong>Marat Amaltdinov<\/strong>, Purdue, 53.18<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alec Kandt<\/strong>, Michigan State, 53.31<\/li>\n<li><strong>Levi Brock<\/strong>, Indiana, 53.89<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>100 Back<\/h3>\n<p>McHugh used his stellar under water kicks to propel him past the field with a 45.07 100 back win. The 100 back at the NCAA level is almost becoming a 60 meter kick and 40 meter swim. <strong>Tom Shields<\/strong> did that when he won in 2011 and 2012 and so did\u00a0<strong>Peter Marshall\u00a0<\/strong>in 2003 and 2004.\u00a0McHugh used those kicks to move into second in the nation behind <strong>Ryan Murphy<\/strong> of California. Minnesota claimed 90 diving points and is solidly in fourth place. Ohio State has a slim, 10 point lead on Indiana for second and Michigan is running away with the title.
