Stanford teammate junior <strong>Lia Neal<\/strong> and\u00a0\u00a0freshman\u00a0<strong>Ella Eastin <\/strong>and California junior\u00a0<strong>Farida Osman<\/strong>, among others, put up good showings. All three women are in good position to take a second individual title of the meet tonight at finals.<\/p>\n<h2>400 IM<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Ella Eastin<\/strong> cruised to an easy top seed this morning in the 400 IM with a time of 4:03.82. The time is almost three seconds off of her seed of 4:01.04, but she was still about five seconds ahead of California junior\u00a0<strong>Celina Li<\/strong>, who qualified second with a time of 4:08.53, just four one-hundredths of her senior teammate\u00a0<strong>Kelly Naze<\/strong>, who rounded out the top three with a 4:08.57. The entire top heat is seeded under 4:15 going into tonight. Stanford will have three in the top eight tonight, California two. Sophomore <strong>Noemie Thomas<\/strong> out touched junior teammate Farida Osman by three one-hundredths of a second. Thomas as a 51.15, Osman was a 51.18, which puts her in a good position going into tonight to possibly take her second individual title of the meet. Third seed went to USC senior\u00a0<strong>Kendyl Stewart<\/strong> (51.96). All of the women in the top eight go into finals tonight seeded under 53. California brings three into the A final, with USC and Arizona qualifying two. USC freshman\u00a0<strong>Kirsten Vose<\/strong> is seeded second going into tonight with a 1:44.54, while the California senior\u00a0<strong>Liz Pelton<\/strong> nabbed the third seed with a 1:44.83. The rest of the field is all under 1:46. USC&#8217;s freshman\u00a0<strong>Riley Scott<\/strong> was the only other sub-1:00 swim of the morning with a second seed time of 59.44.\u00a0<strong>Emma Schoettmer<\/strong>, the senior from Arizona, rounded out the top three with a 1:00.35. The entire top heat is seeded under 1:02. A pair of Stanford sophomores followed her&#8211;<strong>Janet Hu<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Ally Howe<\/strong> were just one one-hundredth of a second apart. Hu grabbed the second seed with a 51.18, while Howe was third with a 51.19. California has three in the top heat, Stanford and UCLA each have two.
