Distance freestyle kicked off night one of the 2016 Speedo Sectionals College Station as Palo Alto Stanford swept the 800-meter free relays.<\/p>\n
Streamline Aquatics’ Ellery Parish<\/strong>, 17, won the women’s 1500-meter free title in 17:14.21. Meanwhile, Mansfield Aquatics’ Sara McClendon<\/strong>, 17, placed second in 17:17.42. \u00a0CyFair’s Bronwyn Tuff<\/strong>, 15, wound up third overall in 17:42.36.<\/p>\n Alamo Area’s Russell Hurrell-Zitelman<\/strong>, 18, hit the wall in 8:33.91 to top the men’s 800-meter free. \u00a0DADS’ Riley Carson<\/strong>, 18, turned in a second-place time of 8:34.07, while CyFair’s Jack Venker<\/strong>, 16, earned third with a time of 8:39.23.<\/p>\n Palo Alto Stanford’s Zoe Lusk<\/strong> (2:08.07), Chloe Isleta<\/strong> (2:06.33), Vicky Wong<\/strong> (2:07.22) and Isabelle Henig<\/strong> (2:03.96) won the women’s 800-meter free relay in 8:25.58.<\/p>\n Texas Ford’s Camryn Toney, Abigail Koczo , Ashley Fiorilli and Gabrielle Kopenski<\/strong> touched second in 8:30.74, while Sierra Marlins’ Chloe Clark, Lauren Smith, Dasha Pastrushenko and Emma Mehl<\/strong> took third in 8:31.76.<\/p>\n Palo Alto Stanford’s Alex Liang<\/strong> (1:54.08), Ben Ho<\/strong> (1:53.79), Lucca Martins<\/strong> (1:56.01) and Joe Molinari<\/strong> (1:54.36) then won the men’s 800-meter free relay in 7:38.24.<\/p>\n Nitro’s Corban Rawls, Matthew Connealy, Sean Grieshop and Nicholas Milikich<\/strong> finished second in 7:39.31 with Grieshop dropping a 1:53.01 split.<\/p>\n Sierra Marlins’ Ethan Dillard, Bryce Mefford, Kyle Peterson and Liam O’Haimhirgin<\/strong> picked up third in 7:41.77 with O’Haimhirgin being listed as posting \u00a0a1:52.30 anchor leg.<\/p>\n The meet continues tomorrow with the more standard prelims\/finals championship setup that will include the 200 back, 100 free, 200 fly and 500 free as the meet changes over to short course yards the rest of the way.<\/p>\n Results available on Meet Mobile.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Distance freestyle kicked off night one of the 2016 Speedo Sectionals College Station as Palo Alto Stanford swept the 800-meter free relays.
