{"id":187411,"date":"2016-02-25T08:05:21","date_gmt":"2016-02-25T15:05:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=187411"},"modified":"2016-02-25T08:05:21","modified_gmt":"2016-02-25T15:05:21","slug":"uae-host-2-fina-events-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/uae-host-2-fina-events-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"UAE To Host 2 FINA Events This Weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The UAE capital will welcome this weekend the second leg of the FINA\/HOSA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup as well as the third edition of the FINA High Diving World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Around 134 athletes from 32 countries (84 men, 50 women) are set to take the departure in Abu Dhabi on <span data-term=\"goog_1170482214\">Friday February 26<\/span> for the second leg of the 2016 circuit of the Marathon Swimming World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>The elite competition will take place at the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sport Club and the total prize money will be US $60.000 equally distributed between men and women, as follows:<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"210\">\n<ul>\n<li>1st USD 7000<\/li>\n<li>2nd USD 4500<\/li>\n<li>3rd USD 3750<\/li>\n<li>4th USD 3000<\/li>\n<li>5th USD 2500<\/li>\n<li>6th USD 2000<\/li>\n<li>7th USD 1500<\/li>\n<li>8th USD 1250<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"213\">\n<ul>\n<li>9th USD 1000<\/li>\n<li>10th USD 800<\/li>\n<li>11th USD 700<\/li>\n<li>12th USD 600<\/li>\n<li>13th USD 500<\/li>\n<li>14th USD 400<\/li>\n<li>15th USD 300<\/li>\n<li>16th USD 200<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Rachele Bruni (ITA) and Alex Meyer (USA) were the winners in Viedma-Patagones in Argentina for the first leg of the competition on February 7.<\/p>\n<p>The third leg of the Marathon Swimming World Cup will take place in Balatonfured in Hungary, the venue that will host the Open Water events during the FINA World Championships 2017. The 2016 circuit is composed of seven legs in total.<\/p>\n<p>In parallel, a mass participation event, with more than 300 swimmers registered will take place on the same day.<\/p>\n<p>From <span data-term=\"goog_1170482215\">February 27-29<\/span>, Abu Dhabi will also serve as breathtaking backdrop to the FINA High Diving World Cup, an event held annually which was introduced on the Aquatic calendar in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>In this year\u2019s edition, 26 men are taking part, while 11 women are announced.
