Poolesville swept the boys and girls titles at the 2016 Maryland 3A\/2A\/1A State High School Championships.<\/p>\n
Girls<\/strong><\/p>\n Poolesville picked up the 3A\/2A\/1A crown with 370 points. \u00a0Easton (265), Walkersville (174), C Milton Wright (164) and Tuscarora (141) rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n C Milton Wright’s Megan Cowan<\/strong> claimed the 200-yard free in 1:57.62. Cowan doubled up with a 54.32 in the 100-yard free.<\/p>\n Thomas Johnson’s Eliza Manning<\/strong> set the state record with a 2:04.82 in the 200-yard IM. Manning doubled up with a 1:04.45 in the 100-yard breast.<\/p>\n Queen Anne’s Hailey Ritter<\/strong> took the 50-yard free title in 24.65.<\/p>\n Poolesville’s Fanny Wu<\/strong> earned the 100-yard fly crown in 59.16.<\/p>\n Rockville’s Alexa Stewart<\/strong> claimed the 500-yard free title in 5:11.16.<\/p>\n Walkersville’s Justine Wantz<\/strong> grabbed the 100-yard back crown in 59.26.<\/p>\n Poolesville’s Katarina Lechner, Sayaka Vaules, Arona Baigal<\/strong> and Theresa Nardone<\/strong> clocked a 1:52.24 to win the 200-yard medley relay.<\/p>\n Poolesville’s Sayaka Vaules, Julia Wang, Fanny Wu<\/strong> and Theresa Nardone<\/strong> topped the 200-yard free relay in 1:40.78.<\/p>\n Poolesville’s Rachel Ryan, Fanny Wu, Katarina Lechner<\/strong> and Julia Wang<\/strong> claimed the 400-yard free relay in 3:43.07.<\/p>\n Damascus’ Madeline Kline<\/strong> topped the one-meter diving event with 462.35 points.<\/p>\n Boys<\/strong><\/p>\n Poolesville claimed the 3A\/2A\/1A title with 325 points. \u00a0Rockville (198), C Milton Wright (177), Damascus (169) and Middletown (167) finished second through fourth.<\/p>\n Middletown’s John Pressly<\/strong> won the 200-yard free in 1:44.91. Pressly doubled up with a 52.21 in the 100-yard fly.<\/p>\n Damascus’ Ryan O’Leary<\/strong> hit the wall in 1:55.20 to win the 200-yard IM.<\/p>\n Huntingtown’s Gregory Gordon<\/strong> snagged the 50-yard free title in 21.65.<\/p>\n Rockville’s Griffin Alaniz<\/strong> earned the 100-yard free title in a state record 46.45.
